Nobu Amsterdam South // Your Little Black Book

Nobu Amsterdam is coming soon. Chances are you’re already familiar with Nobu from Barcelona, Ibiza, New York or even Malibu, as this brand has grown into a global chain of hotels and restaurants. In 2027, Nobu Amsterdam will become a reality, and this is everything we know so far.

Atmosphere and interior at Nobu Amsterdam

New York, 1994. The very first Nobu location opens its doors, led by chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Actor Robert De Niro and film producer Meir Teper are co-owners, and over the years, they’ve helped turn Nobu into an empire. Nobu now boasts over fifty (!) restaurants and 19 hotels around the globe.

In 2027, Nobu Residences Park Meadows Amsterdam, complete with a Japanese-Peruvian Nobu Restaurant, will open its doors. This marks a new direction for the brand, as the project comprises two residential towers on the edge of Beatrixpark in Amsterdam South. The two towers are intended for renters and buyers; one will feature 19 rental apartments, the other 17 for purchase. The architect is Ben van Berkel from UNStudio, best known for designing the Erasmus Bridge. SHH and Studio Piet Boon will design the interior. Future residents will want for nothing, with 24/7 access to a range of amenities comparable to those of a luxury five-star hotel. Sounds like music to your ears? Nobu shared on Instagram that registrations for the residences are now open.

The vibe at Nobu is always spot on — it almost feels like something is exciting and mysterious in the air. And that’s often the case, especially when you look at the celebrities who love to visit (particularly at the Malibu location — yes, we’re speaking from experience). The interior is modern with Japanese influences. You could describe it as minimalist chic, yet with a warm touch thanks to all the wood and soft lighting.

Menu and dishes at Nobu Amsterdam

The most iconic Nobu dish? The miso black cod, without a doubt. This dish had a global breakthrough in 1999, and since then, it has been a favourite among restaurant guests and creative home cooks alike. Even if you can’t access the original recipe, the flavours are still delicious.

Nobu is also known for its fusion cuisinewhich blends the culinary traditions of Japan and Peru. Think sashimi tacos, classic sushi, ceviche, and more. The focus is mainly on fish, but vegetarians and meat lovers will also find plenty of options.

Nobu is perfect for a date night

Are you planning a chic evening out or have something to celebrate? Then a special night at Nobu is everything you could want and more.
