Make Veo3-like AI Videos for Free Using These Tools

Veo3 has taken the world by storm, generating life-like videos with just a prompt. As Google’s latest AI video generation model, Veo3 has been specifically designed to understand complex instructions and produce videos so good, they seem like they have been filmed by a whole production team. All, in a matter of seconds.

What makes Veo3 different is its realistic motion, lighting, and background sound. For me, its most amazing feature is its capability of generating perfect sounds for the video. These features are closing the gap between professional video generation and AI creativity.

The Need for Alternatives

While Veo3 certainly justifies its price tag for quality AI videos in the form of a monthly subscription, the very fact that it is paid is a deterrent to many. More so for people who are just trying have a one-time shot at creating an AI-generated video. To add to this, Veo3 is not even accessible in some places yet.

So, as a solution to both these problems, in this blog, let me show you a few methods to generate videos with sound for free. For a more generic list of AI video creation tools, you can read our listicle here.

This is basically possible in two ways:

  1. By using a free alternative to Veo 3 – Video + Audio
  2. By generating video and sound separately, and then fusing them together

Method 1: Using Veo3 Alternatives

While none of the alternatives to Veo3 are completely free, they do offer freemium versions. Here, I explore such tools in detail.

Kling AI

Kling AI is a powerful AI model developed by the Kuaishou AI Team that specializes in generating videos from text prompts or images. When you sign up at Kling AI, you will get 166 credits, and you will get 60 credits as you log in daily on the platform. For a single video generation, it consumes 20 to 40 credits, depending on your choices.

Here are the steps to generate a video using Kling AI.

  1. Visit the Kling AI Website.
  2. Click on the “Create” button in the top right corner.
  3. Click on the “Video” Tab under the AI Generation Section on the left.
  4. Then choose “Text to Video” or “Image to Video” or “Multi-Element”, depending on your requirement. Kling 2.1 is not available for text-to-video. For image-to-video generation, you can add “Starting frame” and “End frame” for the video
  5. Enter your prompt. You can also add a negative prompt to avoid unnecessary elements in the video.
  6. Click “Generate”.

It will take 1-2 minutes to generate your video

Check out the videos I generated using Kling AI below:

For text-to-video, I used the prompt:

“A majestic, beastly warrior dragon with glowing eyes and massive wings soaring through the clouds. The dragon is armored, exuding power and ancient strength, flying high above mountains under a dramatic sunset sky. Cinematic lighting, sweeping aerial camera shots, epic fantasy atmosphere, intense wind effects, 4K ultra-realistic style.”

Output:

For Image to Video, I used the prompt:

“A dragon approaches a person with its head. The wind blows the dragon, the person’s clothes, and the water surface.“

Pixverse

PixVerse is an AI-powered platform for generating videos from text prompts or images. It offers a range of features for creating various types of videos, including text-to-video, image-to-video, and video extension, along with a library of AI effects. In signing up, you will get 60 credits, and on daily login, you will receive 30 credits. For single video generation, it takes 30 credits. So, you can generate 1 video daily using Pixverse.

Here is how to generate a Veo3-like AI video using Pixverse.

  1. Visit Pixverse Website.
  2. Click on “Generate Video” Tab under AI Create Section on the left.
  3. Then choose “Image to Text”.
  4. Enter your prompt. You can also upload an Image for image-to-video generation.
  5. Click on “Create”.

It will take 1-2 minutes to generate your video

Prompt I have used:

“A majestic, beastly warrior dragon with glowing eyes and massive wings soaring through the clouds. The dragon is armored, exuding power and ancient strength, flying high above mountains under a dramatic sunset sky. Cinematic lighting, sweeping aerial camera shots, epic fantasy atmosphere, intense wind effects, 4K ultra-realistic style.”

Method 2: By generating video and sound separately, and then fusing them together

In this method, we generate sound from one platform and video from another. Then we stitch the two together. Most of the video generation tools offer this feature to superimpose sound with video with proper lip sync.

In this blog, I am going to use Hedra for audio generation and Digen for Video Generation. For audio generation, you can also use other tools, like ElevenLabs, Heygen, etc. For Video generation, you can use Veo2, Luna AI, RunwayML, etc.

Using Hedra for Sound Generation

Hedra AI is a generative media platform focused on creating videos, images, and audio. You can also generate videos from Hedra, but it is only available for paid users. I am going to use only the audio generation feature.

Visit Hedra.

  1. Click on “Video”.
  2. Click on “Audio Script”.
  3. Click on “Generate Speech”.
  4. Now choose Voice and paste your Speech text.
  5. Click on “Generate Audio.”
  6. Wait for 30-60 seconds to generate your audio.
  7. Download It.

Using Digen for Video Generation

Digen AI is a modern, web-based tool that utilizes AI to convert still images into engaging, high-quality videos with smooth animation and lifelike expressions. After signing up, you will get 300 credits and 30 credits for daily login. For a video generation, it will consume 30-40 credits.

Let’s start with video generation

  1. Visit digen.ai
  2. Click on Create on the Top Right
  3. Now upload your image in the “Upload Image” Section
  4. Upload your generated audio under the “Lip sync” section. You can also choose already available music.
  5. Write your prompt for video generation.
  6. Choose the latest video generation model. You can also choose free defined video effects under “Available models”.
  7. Click on “Generate Video”. It will take 2-3 minutes to generate your video.

Output:

Conclusion

Honestly, while Veo3 is super impressive, it’s not the only way to create cool AI videos. I know it can feel a bit limiting when tools like these aren’t free or widely available, but luckily, there are workarounds. I tried a bunch of them myself (and I did mess up a few times 😅), but they get the job done. If you don’t mind playing around a little and fusing things together manually, you can actually create videos that look and sound pretty amazing. Give these a shot, you might be surprised by what you end up making!
