Take 2 minutes to watch a pitiful rag of a dog turn handsome. Meet Marvin.

April 8, 2025

Mange-afflicted dogs are usually on the move, and because of this, people see them once and then they disappear.

Marvin probably hid, ran, hid again, often too anxious from itching to eat. The mange may have advanced very quickly, the parasites lurking beneath the skin and often only gaining ground when an animal has another condition–maybe a virus or even a small infected wound. Marvin was on the way to dying from mange when we rescued him. His first night with us included warm food and a cozy bed, but when his treatment started in the morning his eyes at first revealed quite a bit of fear.

No wonder–he’s been suffering for days, and now he was in a strange place with lots of human hands roving across a scabby, aching body that has possibly never been touched before. But it didn’t take long for Marvin’s eyes to turn from fear to loving trust.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
