There’s something about the vulnerability of our eyes that makes eye wounds particularly horrifying.
Sarge’s eye wound was made far worse by an invasion of maggots. Sarge is a charmer, and seemed to seek help from neighbors, who called us immediately and sent us photos of his condition. His kindness didn’t stop there. He rushed Sarge to our hospital.
On arrival, Sarge looked exhausted. But his road to recovery was only just starting and we needed to get him strong to fight. It took weeks of daily treatments, many, many bandages, good food and Sarge’s trust and patience, to get to where we are now and we’re completely thrilled for Sarge. His happiness just grew day by day and now his true personality is shining through!
