Free “Gamebridge” is Back on 28 June 2025


Calling all games students at Escape Studios – “Gamebridge” is back, and it’s completely free! On Saturday 28th June 2025 the annual Gamebridge Student Games Festival will be running in Cambridge, East Anglia. This free event is aimed at further (17yrs+) and higher education students / graduates looking for a career in the games industry.

Student Showcase
The heart of 
Gamebridge 2025 is the Student Showcase, where selected work can win industry sponsored awards and cash prizes totalling more than £5,000. This year the individual awards offer £500 1st / £250 2nd Prizes for:

– 2D Art
– 3D Character Art
– 3D Environment Art
– Technical Excellence
– Design Excellence

Best Team Game Award
The Best Team Game has a £1,000 1st Prize and £400 2nd Prize.

Industry Mentoring

There will be bookable 1:1s with industry, talks, workshops, recruitment booths, and this year there will be a special pitching competition to win industry mentoring and support (valued at over £1,000) for commercial game development. 

Wacom – Free Cintiq

Wacom will be running “art battles” across the day and giving away a Cintiq 16 valued at £700.

Industry Guests & Employers

There will be industry professionals at the event that represent over 30 games companies, not least of all  industry sponsors that include Frontier Developments, Rebellion, Jagex, Airship Interactive, Dlala Studios, and K9 Digital to name a few.

Free Live Event – Anglia Ruskin University

Anglia Rusking University

This summer, The Gamebridge Student Games Festival is a free live-event hosted by Anglia Ruskin University. 

It has been designed to highlight the best work created by students from across the country, as well as supporting all attendees in their journey towards a career in the games industry.  The event is open to all FE/HE students that are 17+, as well as those that have graduated from those institutions but have not yet found a job in the games industry. 

Open to Students

Gamebridge is open to students from non-game courses, such as computer science, animation, sound/music, writing and film – as long as they have an interest in working in the games industry.

The Gamebridge day will include the following:
