A teaser trailer, teaser key visual, and main cast and creative team have been shared for Maiden Blood, an original dark fantasy action anime series produced by Polygon Pictures that will premiere in 2027.
Set in a world ravaged by demons, the show follows blood warriors — humans modified through surgery and blood magic, their abilities powered by blood itself. At the center are sisters Eva and Epica: Epica, the strongest blood warrior, her soul stolen away; Eva, unable to walk since birth — and the one thing in the world that can awaken her younger sister’s sleeping power is Eva’s blood.
In the story, Armageddon’s destined outcome has been overturned, the sun no longer rises, and blood has become currency, fuel, and weapon.
Seiji Kishi, known for Assassination Classroom, Classroom of the Elite, and Blue Orchestra, directs; Makoto Uezu, whose credits include Yuki Yuna Is a Hero, KONOSUBA, and Kengan Ashura, handle series composition. Character designs are based on original concepts by renowned illustrator LAM. Satoki Iida serves as sound director; Keiichi Okabe, Kuniyuki Takahashi, and Taichi Jouraku of MONACA compose the music, with music production by Pony Canyon, which shares the original work credit with Kishi and Uezu.
The teaser gives a first listen to the leads: Iori Saeki voices Eva; Yukari Anzai voices Epica.
