Wow, I can’t believe Autumn’s already here! Summer sure flew by in a flash!
And this month marks our 16th anniversary! Cheers! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ❀❅*✲ﾟ❅*｡⋆❀❅

To all of our dear readers from old and new who have been and still with us, thank you for all of your love and support!

As I’m sure many have noticed, we’ve been having a lot of stability problems this summer. Unfortunately the cause are those pesky A.I. crawlers/scrappers ranging from ChatGPT, Claude, and others. It’s been very exhausting to deal with since the site needs to be functional for not just you the readers, but also for us to blog at all.

Because of that: I’ve decided to finally added Cloudflare and done some additional stuff in hopes to thwart it. But it’s been a tricky process as it’s been a learning curve for me. Much of this I had to figure out on my own, and even after doing my researching and studying up on it before I went ahead with it, and there were things I didn’t foresee would be responsible for creating a whole new set of problems after activating it. I had to hastily problem solve on the spot, which took some time to figure some things out. A lot of time was spent looking up what other people said and did in the said situations, and sought out for Human support to help diagnose and fix problem when I couldn’t find the answer. Hopefully with everything now in place, the blog will be stable again. But to be on the err side of caution, please be aware that issue may still continue to persist in the future, and god forbid that they do, please know I’m always doing my best to resolve it.

And with that, I won’t keep you waiting any longer! Let’s get down to the preview!

Since Fall 2025, we’ve added country of origin label to the ‘source’ material tag! As more and more international series get adapted, I figured this would be a good thing to add going forward! Also remember to turn on CC for potential translated subtitles in the PV’s! Not all of them have that available, but most of them do!

The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Part 1
薬屋のひとりごと 第3期 | Kusuriya no Hitorigoto 3rd Season

In the aftermath of the Shi Clan’s rebellion, things have finally settled down, and Maomao has returned to her old life as a pharmacist in the pleasure district.

One day, triggered by a breakfast served at the Verdigris House, Maomao senses an anomaly and begins investigating its true nature.

Meanwhile, Jinshi, who has revealed his true identity as the Imperial brother and begun to face his heavy responsibilities, is deeply troubled by the final message left by Loulan: a warning of an impending “disaster that will strike the nation.”

To make matters worse, rumors of a mysterious shrine maiden who deceives the people begin to spread, casting a dark shadow over the country of Li once again.

From the depths of the inner court to the city streets, and across foreign borders—the world grows wider, and the stakes even higher for Maomao and Jinshi.

Eva: Wow time flew by so fast, that it didn’t feel like a long wait at all! Compared to the past two seasons, the upcoming arc is admittedly quite as slow since it’s just the start of a new one, so it’s not a favourite of mine. But pay-off of what it’s building up to is so good, so it’ll be worth sitting through again! I’m also very interested in seeing how a certain event will be delivered. Those who read the novels, (particularly frustrated with JNovel Club’s controversial translations) knows exactly what I’m talking about. There will be much to discuss when we get to that point that, especially since we’ll be able to get more clear picture to put an end to that slander.

Eva: Another old-school hit that I absolutely loved, so when I first saw this announced I was ecstatic! I remember back in the day I had really gotten into it after reading it online, but I could never get a printed copy since they were out of print by the time I figured out where I could buy manga (my local bookstores didn’t have any back in the day). 🥲 It was really frustrating. But nowadays we can still purchase it digitally at least! I’m very interested in potentially covering this one, but it will depend on how well it aged since it’s been over 15 years since I’ve last read it!

Firefly Wedding

On the surface, Satoko has it all—she’s beautiful, the daughter of a nobleman, and at a prime age for marriage. Unfortunately, she is also quite ill and only has a short time left to live. Before she can secure a marriage that will redeem her worth in her family’s eyes, she finds herself the target of the mysterious assassin Shinpei, and her plans are put in jeopardy. In order to save herself, she makes a desperate proposal—of marriage! When it comes to love, however, Shinpei takes “until death do we part” seriously.

Eva: This manga is wild. I don’t often read/watch series with Yandere leads, but sometimes I’m just in the mood out of morbid curiosity, and sometimes, their characters though insane, are fun to read/watch. And this is one of them. The manga is actually insanely good, crazy, but super bloody. Frankly because of that I’m not sure if I’ll be able to watch this adaption, but hey, if you want some crazy but good quality yandere shit, definitely check this out.

Hi, I’m a Witch, and My Crush Wants Me to Make a Love Potion
どうも、好きな人に惚れ薬を依頼された魔女です。

And with that single sentence, the Good Witch of the Lake’s secret crush on the dashing Sir Harij ends in heartbreak. Still, when he promises to help her gather the ingredients, Rose is thrilled at the chance to gaze upon a man she’d normally never get to interact with. She learns to brace her pounding heart for their usual stilted conversations…but what is she to do when he inexplicably shows up at her doorstep with bread and a jar of apple butter?

Eva: I’ve read this one and it’s very cute! But I’m not really sure if it’s the kind I want to cover. I’ll watch the first episode and see if it clicks though!

Magic Knight Rayearth (2026)

Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji aren’t from Cephiro. While on a school field trip to the Tokyo Tower, the three girls’ minds are on anything but different worlds filled with magic and wonder. That is, until Princess Emeraude, the Pillar of Cephiro, cries out for the Magic Knights to save her world–and that just happens to be those three!

Eva: I’ve tried watching the original years ago and it just didn’t click. Maybe that’s why I never bothered to try the manga either (oops). But this looks gorgeous and I would like to try watching it again. So I’ll give it a shot, but I know I won’t be covering it.

Shadow: I tried reading the manga back in high school… but then I got bored and immediately dropped it. I am curious if I’d like it as an adult and in the modern animation form, so I’d probably give it a watch out of curiosity.

A Tale of the Secret Saint

Now that the magic from her previous life has been rekindled, she may become a more powerful knight than she ever dreamed–if only she can survive long enough!

Eva: I have a confession to make: I bought the first volume of this series years ago… and it’s still in my backlog of unread books– oops! Looks like I’ll be watching this first instead ahaha… Though if anything, it might prompt me to start reading sooner!

Twisted Wonderland: THE ANIMATION Season 2

Eva: Whelp, I haven’t even watched the first season yet, but this is one I’m actually really looking forward to! Fortunately this doesn’t air till pretty much the end of the Fall Season (to the point I half wondered if it still had a place in this season preview), so I have an abundance of time to catch up to the first season with Riddle.

Shadow: While I did enjoy the first season since we got to see a lot of scenes we didn’t get to experience visually, I will admit that it was just an okay adaptation. Especially since it felt like it was trying to only really appeal to the audience who was already familiar with the series and overall felt a little rushed. With less episodes than a normal cour, I feel like we weren’t able to spend enough time with certain characters. Though I am curious as to how they’ll adapt the rest of the series so I definitely am down for the ride. Especially since we got confirmation that we will NOT be continuing on with the first protagonist and will have a new one just like in the manga. Will definitely be interesting to see how this all plays out and what the audience consensus will be like.

🍂 Overall Thoughts 🍂

Eva: For better or for worse, not much interest for Fall Season coverage. It is a much needed break however as I have been covering a lot lately. I’ll definitely continuing my coverage of The Apothecary Diaries, and if it doesn’t feel too dated to write about, I’m strongly considering From Far Away, but “Make me a Love Potion” or A Tale of the Secret Saint might be my second choice. I’ll just stick to watching Magic Knight Rayearth (2026), and maybe Firefly Wedding! It’s really the sort I can only handle reading in still black and white images when it’s bloody. Well on the bright side of having less to cover this season, more time to rest and play Fire Emblem Fortune Weaves and Ocarina of Time this fall! Hahahaha!

Shadow: Scrolling through this season’s list and nothing really caught my interest. I do have a backlog of stuff I need to cover so I most likely will be working on that instead since Twisted Wonderland: THE ANIMATION Season 2 EPISODE of SAVANACLAW will be airing later, similarly to what the first season did.
