After Mizuka helped Imari with Ouka’s help despite getting into massive debt in doing so, Mizuka decides to help Aoi out. However, Akane becomes upset for some reason and it becomes obvious why.

At the beginning of the episode, we see Aoi and Akane running away on a rainy day after they found out the orphanage they are in has closed its doors. Obviously, they don’t want to get separated. Eventually, they took shelter under a roof until Rin found them. They freak out as Maria takes them in. After they ate dinner, Akane seemed to have an interest in juggling clubs. That is how they ended up taking part in the Himawari Circus troupe.

Back to the present time, Aoi practices with the juggling clubs, and one ended up hitting her head. She ends up apologizing while Akane calms her, saying not to worry about the bump. As Aoi looks, she feels she is falling behind as Akane gets a bag of ice for her. When she got back, Mizuka was helping her, and Akane got really upset and threw an ice pack at her face. It’s clear that she had negative feelings towards Mizuka as she sees her presence as messing everything up. When Aoi tries to say Mizuka is just helping, Akane said nothing. That is until Mizuka offered to help her out. She had an outburst at Mizuka as she turned down her help.

Eventually, Mizuka came back to where Rin and Maria were hanging out, as she complained about her pay. Funny Mizuka got distracted by some mochi, and Ouka joined in as well. Maria gives her another offer, saying that Mizuka can earn more if she can receive instruction for 50 yen per hour. Funny how Ouka ran out to get her wallet as Mizuka complains, as she wants to get another job. That is when she wants to spy another circus that uses animals. Some foreshadowing here as Ouka came back and found out that Mizuka had gone missing.

That is while Aoi confronts Akane as she seems down as she lays in bed. When Aoi wanted to practice more with Mizuka as she needed her help as she wants to get it better. Akane gets upset over Aoi wanting to practice with Mizuka as it as she doesn’t think Akane is enough. That is while Mizuka sneaked into the other circus and finding out from the ringleader they are missing an animal named Francois somewhere into the mountains. Now, it’s time for her to find it before anyone else does.

Akane, being all upset, ran into the forest and not knowing where she was. She eventually took a path that led to a cave, where she found an elephant. Apparently, the elephant showed signs of scars from abuse. It’s obvious where it came from. Still, Akane can relate to it as she feels Aoi abandoned her for Mizuka, like an elephant by its master, and formed an interesting bond with it. That is why Aoi told what happened with Akane as they formed a search party. I find it funny how when Ouka asks about Mizuka, everyone writes her off saying that she is probably fine. Funny how this becomes a running gag.

Eventually, Mizuka arrives at the cave and finds the elephant she is looking for. Obviously, Mizuka is not happy as Akane found it first and then wants to split the profits from finding it. When she found out why, she refused to give him up as she had the elephant shoot water from its trunk like a Pokémon trainer. I find it funny how Mizuka wonders if Akane is actually talking to the elephant. Funny how when they got hungry, Mizuka summoned a bunch of apples that she stole from the circus troupe Francois came from. Yep, Mizuka is truly a thief, but then again, the owner of that troupe is an animal abuser, as Mizuka eventually saw the terrible scars. I guess two wrongs make a right.

After some resistance, Mizuka convinced Akane after she revealed why she was helping Aoi. Aoi wanted to get better so she didn’t want to drag Akane down by not being as good as her. After all, her desire is to stay with Akane. I find it funny how Akane wants to leave after finding out that reason, but Mizuka advises her to stay until the next day. Of course, Mizuka offered to give some training, and somehow Akane accepted. At last, Mizuka defrosts Akane’s tsundere personality. I find it funny how Akane sees Mizuka’s desire to earn more money as annoying.

The next day, Akane wakes up Mizuka because there were guards with guns and, of course, Francois’s ringleader. She instructed the guards to kill the “dangerous” elephant, but they seemed reluctant. Funny how Maria shows up and exposes the ringleader by saying that they had the guards kill the elephant to collect some sweet insurance money. Although the ringleader denies it, the police arrested her. Still, it’s nice to see Akane and Aoi apologize to each other with the elephant picking them up. Still, I wonder if Himawari can afford to keep an elephant. I guess they have to incorporate it into the show to earn some more money. At least it’s in better hands now and not with the abusive owner.
