Shuumatsu Touring – Episode 8 – Fun in the Mud and Racing at Mobility Resort Motegi,

Airi hunts for a duck to cook.

After Airi received an update, while Youko got a surprise checkup at Tsukuba, they decided to pay a visit to Kasumigaura and eventually a race track of some sort.

Youko enjoying her time in the mud.
Airi brought back a dead duck.
Yep, Airi had to join in.

Now that Airi is fixed up and Youko has had her checkup, they finally arrive in Kasumigaura, a lake and wetland area. Airi has the urge to have yakitori as Youko plays in the mud while wearing a swimsuit. Yep, Airi used a slingshot to kill a duck. Funny how Airi came back with a dead duck and sees Youko throwing herself in the mud. Basically, Airi threw herself in the bog, and it was funny to see them get dirty.

At least they prepared the meat quite nicely.
They finally get their first stamp.

It was interesting to see how they butchered the dead duck and eventually made some skewers. While it cooked, they went to a nearby observation tower. Sure, there are a lot of stairs to climb, but at least they get a nice view. Too bad we didn’t get to see how the skewers looked, although they panicked as they hurried back. Youko got carried away in the photos her older sister took, wanting to go to a race track. At least they got their first stamp.

Youko seems motivated to race on the track.
As they wait for the bike to charge, they obviously explored the premises.
Youko spaced out feeling the sensation of a race.
They of course look at fireflies.
She of course dreamed of being part of a race.

Eventually, they arrived at the Mobility Resort Motegi, which is basically a race track. While Youko is very motivated to race on the track, the bike’s battery is low. That had to wait as they explored the premises and even saw fireflies at night. Of course, Youko, standing on the track, felt the excitement of a race underway, but Airi didn’t. Also, Youko dreamt of being a spectator at a race with Chitose and even racing on a bike herself on the track. Also, Chitose raced on the track, too, which is interesting.

Youko finally races on the track for real.
Sadly, Airi can’t ride the bike herself as her feet doesn’t reach.
At least Youko came to help ride the bike.

When Youko actually raced on the track, Airi found a helmet for her. After Youko finished a lap on the track, she felt the bike was much slower than the one she rode in her dream. It’s not too surprising since it’s not really a racing bike, but an off-road one. The conversion to electric is probably another factor, and Chitose probably optimized for distance rather than speed. It’s cute how Airi wants to ride the bike, but of course, she is not tall enough to reach the ground. At least Youko offered to ride with Airi on the course, so at least she won’t feel left out.
