Seems like an overreaction.
Impressions:
A very generic mech or mech-adjacent opening. Decently animated at that. But everything fell apart with everything having to do with the… well… core conceit and focus of the show, that they’re playing a 3v3 mecha battler video game. And it was bad. Admittedly, hilariously bad. When the big moves that disarm them are “tapping D to move down”, complete with closeup of the keyboard, or the antagonist dude yells “NOW I’M GETTING SERIOUS!” and… double-taps G, again, with closeup of the keyboard. It’s so stupid. They defeated these hardened awesomesauce super experts by… moving slightly to the left. And blocking when attacked.
Don’t think that the writing woes end there either. The baddies blow up a… actually, I have no idea what they blew up, but in any case, it ended up with the protagonist having a bowl of curry dumped on his head, so he began screaming in pain. Then abruptly stopped, and was completely fine. Not just fine, but he left the entire bowl on his head for the rest of the conversation, which involved parrying a taser with a spoon. Also, the entire town, this rural dilapidated town, violently attacks anybody who dares try to pay in anything but magic space money as given by/through HIT VIDEO GAME, DARK MACHINE, which the protagonist has never heard of. This was created by humans, inexplicably.
