Recently, I had the rare pleasure of seeing one of the most elusive and coveted predator fish in our industry in person, the Neptune Grouper.
It all began a few weeks ago when Jerry Tieder of T.F.T. Distributors, a wholesaler based in South Florida, reached out to let me know he had received multiple Neptune Groupers. Two arrived in the first shipment, followed by four more shortly after. He graciously invited me to come by and see these remarkable specimens up close. Needless to say, this was not an opportunity I could pass up.
Just before heading out of the country, I gathered my gear and made the trip to document the experience firsthand. The result is a short video capturing my journey and offering a closer look at what many consider a jewel of the ocean. These fish are every bit as striking and fascinating in person as their reputation suggests.
