See You at the Pole 2026: Come to Me — Every year, students across the United States and around the world gather before school to pray for their schools, friends, families, teachers, communities, and nation. That tradition continues in 2026 with See You at the Pole™ (SYATP) on Wednesday, September 23.

What Is See You at the Pole?
See You at the Pole is a student-led, student-organized, and student-initiated prayer gathering. Students meet around their school flagpole before school to pray together.
The event isn’t about putting on a big production. At its heart, SYATP is about something simple: students coming together to pray.
According to the official SYATP organization, the movement began in 1990 in Burleson, Texas, during a DiscipleNow movement, when a small group of teenagers felt led to pray for their friends, schools, and communities. What began with those students eventually grew into an international movement.
Today, students in countries around the world participate in See You at the Pole.
The 2026 Theme: “Come to Me”
The words “Come to Me” offer a powerful message for students.
School can bring pressure, challenges, friendships, decisions, expectations, and uncertainty. Matthew 11:28 reminds Christians that they can bring their burdens to Jesus and seek Him for rest.
For SYATP 2026, students can use this theme as an opportunity to pray not only for their schools but also for the people around them who may be struggling, worried, lonely, or searching for hope.
It is a reminder that prayer isn’t something reserved for a church building. Students can gather wherever they are and bring their concerns and hopes before God.
What Happens at SYATP?
Every school may organize its gathering differently, but prayer remains the central purpose.
Students might:
- Pray for their school and classmates
- Pray for teachers, administrators, and staff
- Pray for families and communities
- Read Scripture
- Sing worship songs
- Share short testimonies
- Pray together in small groups
- Spend time in individual or silent prayer

A Movement That Started With Students
One of the most remarkable things about See You at the Pole is its history.
It didn’t begin as a massive national event. It began with teenagers who simply decided to pray.
Those students gathered at school flagpoles and prayed for their friends, schools, leaders, and country. Their example inspired other students and youth leaders, and the movement continued to grow.
According to SYATP, the event has expanded internationally, with participation reported in more than 64 countries.
That history is an important reminder that sometimes a movement can begin with just a few people willing to take the first step.
Preparing for September 23
With September 23 approaching, students who want to participate can begin preparing now.
Start by finding out whether other students at your school are planning to participate. Talk with friends and student leaders, make a plan for where and when to meet, and decide how you want to spend your prayer time.

Most importantly, begin praying before the event even arrives.
Pray for the students who will attend. Pray for those who won’t. Pray for teachers and school staff. Pray for your community. And pray that the message of “Come to Me” will be more than just a theme—it will become something students experience in their everyday lives.
More Than One Morning
Although See You at the Pole takes place on one special day, the goal is bigger than a single morning.
The official SYATP organization encourages students to continue praying throughout the year and to allow the event to become the beginning of an ongoing prayer movement at their school.
Imagine what could happen if students didn’t stop praying when they left the flagpole.
Imagine students continuing to pray for their classmates every week.
Imagine students encouraging one another, serving their communities, and living out their faith throughout the school year.
That’s where one morning at the flagpole can become something much bigger.
