Elmer Makabenta and Gerald Jade Coyacot from our GreenGeeks team in the Philippines share a quick recap of the team’s experience at WordCamp Philippines in Iloilo City. From contributing at the Support Table during Contributor Day to meeting WordPress community members at the GreenGeeks booth, it was a fun and memorable experience. Here are a few highlights from the event.
WordCamp Philippines was recently held in Iloilo City, Philippines , bringing together WordPress enthusiasts, contributors, developers, users, and industry professionals for a fun and inspiring event. For us, it was a great opportunity not only to attend the event, but also to contribute, meet fellow WordPress community members, and represent GreenGeeks .
Contributor Day – August 28
Contributor Day started at 9:00 AM , giving everyone the opportunity to take part in the different WordPress contributor teams.
The Support Team helps WordPress users in the forums get the most out of their websites by answering questions ranging from basic troubleshooting to more advanced WordPress topics.
One of the best things about contributing to Support is that everyone knows the answer to something . Whether you are new to WordPress or an experienced user, there is always something you can share and someone you can help.
It was a great experience working alongside other contributors, sharing knowledge, and helping WordPress users in the community.
A Quick Visit to the GreenGeeks Booth
We also took a quick break to visit the GreenGeeks booth and make sure everything was ready and running smoothly.
It was great to see the booth set up and ready to welcome WordCamp attendees. We were excited for the main event and looking forward to meeting more members of the WordPress community.
Day 2 – The WordCamp Event
The second day was the main WordCamp event, and it started with some challenging weather. Due to heavy rain , only a few visitors were able to drop by the booths at first.
But as soon as the rain stopped, everything changed.
A huge crowd started making their way into the event, and visitors quickly filled the different booths. Our GreenGeeks booth became busy with attendees stopping by to learn more, ask questions, and connect with us.
The busy atmosphere, conversations, and energy throughout the day made the event feel truly special. Even though the day started with heavy rain, it certainly didn’t stop the WordPress community from showing up.
A Memorable WordCamp Experience
By 5:00 PM , the event had officially come to an end.
Looking back, WordCamp Philippines in Iloilo City was a fun, meaningful, and memorable experience . From contributing at the Support Table during Contributor Day to helping out at the GreenGeeks booth and meeting so many members of the WordPress community, every part of the event was something to remember.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute, connect with others, share knowledge, and be part of the amazing WordPress community.
