Five on Friday with Jane Bellis – Jill’s Book Cafe

Today I’m delighted to feature author Jane Bellis. Jane is a Sacred Nervous System and Shadow Integration Coach, founder of Mojo School for Holistic Wellness, and author of the new book Mrs Mojo: The Art of Feeling Better – Healing, Purpose & the Rise of the Divine Feminine.

Blending neuroscience, trauma-informed healing, and spiritual wisdom, Jane helps conscious creators, coaches, and seekers move beyond recurring patterns, burnout, and emotional blocks to create lasting, embodied transformation. Her work bridges the mystical and the practical, guiding clients to regulate their nervous systems, integrate shadow aspects, and live with greater purpose, alignment, and wellbeing.

Through her coaching programs, group experiences, and educational platform, Jane empowers people to turn self-awareness into meaningful change across mind, body, emotion, and spirit.

Over to Jane :

Which five pieces of music/songs would you include in the soundtrack to your life and why?

If Today Was Your Last Day by Nickelback. The lyrics just hit me every time and remind me to enjoy the journey even when things get tough

Primavera by Ludovico Einaudi – just a stunningly beautiful and emotive piece of classical music that takes me on a journey. I play it a lot within my workshops.

Crowbar by Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes – Lots of layers around energy, the bigger picture of the human experience and a good dose of lyrical angst and truth bombs around how we are controlled into subconscious unhappy submission by the system. The man is a beautiful mix of poet & rebel with his shirtless, shoeless on-stage chaos.

Can’t Stop by Red Hot Chilli Peppers – this is my go-to song to get me fired up and in peak performance zone. I play it before every major fashion show and still play it before big events a bit like a walk out tune for a boxer

(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher by Jackie Wilson – the ultimate Feelgood song. I have great memories of my hubby playing this song to get the kids to clean the house with us – we all had a boogie while we worked and it instantly made a chore a happy experience.

What five things (apart from family and friends) would you find it hard to live without.

Books. One of my main self care tools is to quiet my busy mind by getting lost in my books. During my burnout years books were the only thing that could keep me still and help me regulate my nervous system for any length of time.

Music. Music is medicine and it’s powerful. We are a family who love music of all kinds and can often be found at gigs and festivals. It brings us together as a family and we are all bonded through music

My garden/veggies/herbs. My sacred space is truly a little piece of magic and I find so much peace and solace in my garden. The act of growing food and medicine and just being able to co-create something beautiful with Mother Nature is a beautiful thing.

My phone – and I hate to say it but it’s true. I have no idea how we did anything back in the day without tech. It’s scary how reliant we are but my self care and family time is protected by the fact that I can run my business pretty much from the palm of my hand now!

My car. I am constantly on the road (and also playing taxi for the kids) and I watch family and friends who don’t drive constantly battling with public transport and trying to get places. I just couldn’t do it. I do walk whenever I can and car share when it’s doable but I have to be able to have the independence to jump in my car and get to where I need to be with as little drama as possible.

Give five pieces of advice to your younger self?

You are already enough and don’t need to prove yourself. – This is the big one that I wish I knew back then.

Life will move in the blink of an eye. Don’t miss a second of the present moment worrying about the future.

Everything always works out. You’ll either have a brilliant experience or a brilliant lesson

Enjoy your babies when they are little. I know it’s hard but one day you’ll look back and wish you could do it all again

Find the courage to speak your truth and don’t be afraid of putting your head above the parapet & being ridiculed or discredited. It’s why you’re here and it’s why you have the gifts you have. The sooner you start shining your awesome sparkly star shaped  light, the sooner you will feel free and at peace, and other sparkly star shaped folk will find you.

Tell us five things that most people don’t know about you

I’m actually super sensitive and feel everything very deeply (people assume my strength and confidence mean that I don’t, but it’s quite the opposite)

I once appeared on Blue Peter and have a Blue Peter badge somewhere

I can sing. I keep it to myself except for the odd Karaoke sesh but I trained as a kid and absolutely love to sing

My spiritual ‘gifts’ came online at around 11 years old, shortly after my parents split up (they were always there but this was the catalyst) most people have only seen this part of me in recent years as I kept it very well hidden.

I climbed a mountain in Peru with next to no training and had a near death experience which completely changed my life.

Tell us five things you’d still like to do or achieve.

Learn another language

Learn to play the guitar

Go on a luxury cruise (hubby hates boats!)

Own a smallholding with some land, chickens, a beehive and grow my veggies in peace with my kids and grandbabies all around

See Mojo School become a global tool for personal development & healing, showing that we are fundamentally all human despite our differences and there is a set of universal healthcare principles that unites us.

Many thanks for joining me today Jane, I enjoyed discovering more about you. Thanks for sharing Primavera with us. Einaudi was a composer I first discovered via Five on Friday and it’s good to have him featured again. Books and music both featured in my own list of things I couldn’t live without (back in 2018) and I still feel the same way, perhaps even more strongly. I love your advice ‘everything always works out. You’ll either have a brilliant experience or a brilliant lesson’. I’d like to hope I’d be sanguine enough to accept the latter. Now what all of us now want to know is the reason for your appearance on Blue Peter, back in the day, we all wanted that coveted badge. I really hope you get to tick off your dream items. My desire to learn a language, namely Spanish has been repeated here ad nauseam, but is still no nearer reality – maybe I need my own mojo to kick in. At this stage I need to just stop being unrealistic!

Mrs Mojo’s The Art of Feeling Better: Healing, Purpose & the Rise of the Divine Feminine

Feeling better isn’t a destination. It’s an art.

If you’ve been holding it all together for everyone else… if you’re tired of “quick fixes” that don’t touch the root… if you can feel a deeper version of you trying to rise—this book is for you.

Mrs Mojo’s The Art of Feeling Better: Healing, Purpose, and the Rise of the Divine Feminine is a three-part journey of remembrance.

Inside, you’ll be guided through:

  1. The Invitation This opening sets the tone through Jane’s own hero’s quest—a raw, honest account of the path that shaped her work. It’s where she shares her authentic and vulnerable story, not as a highlight reel, but as a lantern for anyone who’s ever felt lost, burnt out, or called to begin again. This is the stage-setting: the moment you realise you’re not alone—and that the transformational work ahead is real, lived, and possible.
  2. The Sacred Pause :A memoir-led, heart-forward story of burnout, awakening, and rebuilding—woven with reflective prompts and practical tools to help you meet your own life with more compassion, clarity, and courage.
  3. The Grimoire: A grounded, uncensored library of practices and perspectives—where ancient wisdom meets modern insight. You’ll find tools you can return to again and again, and invitations to explore what resonates (without being told what to believe).

This is not a “fix yourself” manual.

It’s a companion for the moments you feel lost, numb, overwhelmed, or ready to come home to yourself.

You’ll explore themes like:

  • Healing without shame, perfectionism, or spiritual bypassing
  • Nervous system awareness, neuroplasticity, and the power of small shifts
  • Energy, frequency, symbolism, and the language of the subconscious
  • Reclaiming inner authority, truth, and purpose
  • The Divine Feminine as a lived experience—creative, fierce, intuitive, and whole

What you’ll take with you

  • A deeper understanding of your patterns (and how to change them gently)
  • Practical reflections and rituals you can use in real life
  • Permission to be human and holy
  • A felt sense that you are not broken—you are becoming

Take what resonates. Leave what doesn’t.And trust the part of you that already knows the way.

Mindset Mojo : The Art of Feeling Better

Finally – an easy to read guide to navigating life!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you could free yourself from the chains of expectation?
If you didn’t have to worry about what other people thought? If ‘fitting in’ and being accepted wasn’t an issue, or that you could never ever let anybody down or fail at anything because everything you do is just perfect for you, even if not by other people’s standards and expectations? How would that feel, to live in a world where your deepest, darkest desires, wants needs and goals that stay hidden in the shadows due to fear of ridicule, could shimmer to the surface and illuminate your life?

In this book we take all of the ingredients in the Mindset Mojo sell out resilience & wellbeing training course and help you to discover the mind-body connection, look at our thoughts, emotions, values, beliefs and behaviours, and take a journey to discover the real you behind all of your roles and the masks you wear.

Learning how to recognise your stressors, build a coping strategies toolkit to self-soothe and tackle stress, anxiety and depression and build your bucket list, master set of SMART goals, vision and affirmation boards will have you shining your true light, and helping to light others in no time!

The ultimate self-help guide to finding your mindset mojo and unlocking your true potential in just 5 steps.

Rewind back to 1978 when Bev and Steve Rodgers were expecting their first baby in a small Welsh village on the border of Cheshire. Did they realise that they were about to spawn a freedom fighter who would grow up to have rainbow hair, a ton of tattoos and a passion for creating social change? I imagine not. But that’s what they got.

At age 15 when the bright purple hair dye came out I can remember my dad rolling his eyes and saying ‘it’s just a phase’ ……a really long, 25 year phase apparently!

Being able to find the strength of character to break the mould, challenge perceptions, and carve out a unique style in an era when ‘keeping up with the Jones’s’ was at an all time high with those serious social stigmas in suburban Britain, galvanized something within my core, and forged the person I am today, with the knowledge and experience to pass on to you, so that you can find your true self, however deeply hidden away that is.

This book is for everybody, and I mean everybody. It’s ageless, genderless, raceless, ability-less, social and economic background-less, (and any other ‘less’ you can think of). If you have ever felt battered down by modern society, living a lie as a shadow of your real self for fear of failure, ridicule or reprimand, then this is for you.

I will be sharing some inspiration and wisdom with real practical steps, based on my own experience and that of the hundreds if not thousands of people I have worked with over the years who are in exactly the same boat. You will hear tales of my adventures within the fashion industry, to trekking across Peru, the joys of being self employed and raising four kids, and my mission to find my Tribe and gather other ‘Soul Warriors’ to collectively spread the feel-good factor and give our future generations a chance at a brighter future.

You’ll find weaved throughout the narrative some crucial steps that you can take today to spring clean your attitude and revamp your outlook – the magical key to find the real you, dream big, smash through limitations, and learn how to deal with the ‘mood- hoovers’ out there. Most importantly, you will learn to value your worth.

Why waste this chance to become everything you want to be, do everything you want to do? The only limitations are the ones that you impose on yourself, and for every excuse you can come up with I bet I can counteract it with a better reason to jump the hurdle and take the leap of faith.

So arm yourself with a pen and paper, and grab a cuppa, because you are about to discover who you really are, what it is you were born to do, and unlock the door to the ultimate adventure of reaching your true potential.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
