MY REVIEW

To actually achieve to make something of yourself theses days, with property, you do need to be able to take, chances and risks in your life. From John Moon’s parents cramped flat, to a damp cottage, being an 11 year-old, chopping wood, having a posh friend, his life was a difficult one, his father stole from his mother’s purse leaving the no money for food. John had to deal with a lot as his mother suffered depression. A note he wrote to himself and to this day he still has that note. ‘ I promise that for the 7th May 1972 I will put all my wages in this tin & I will not draw from them until I have enough for a car’ John takes us through the stages of his career in jobs and his love for motor racing. At how at just the age of 25 he was on the property ladder, which in those days, I think were genuinely much easier for 25 years olds, now days a twenty five year old wouldn’t even have enough to put down on a house or even get onto the property ladder. But through chances, and drafting out in his head he managed to buy his first property. It may have been down to how, religiously John always said his prayers at night. Throughout this remarkable book John will explain everything how he managed to buy his first property and the people who John mixed in with. This honesty is the first book that has really impressed me, with someone trying to explain about how their upbringing, was, and what made them how they are today, and the inside details in to his success in wealth.

It took me a long time. It wasn’t easy and I can totally understand why many people are happy as they are.

But some of the things which happened to me at a very young age have made me determined and compelled to make sure neither me or my family could ever be in that position.

Over many decades, I built successful businesses in the world of finance, property and motor sport. I developed a parallel career in journalism, broadcasting, commentating and P.R., as well as achieving numerous motor racing successes in the UK and Europe over a 30 year period.

I now live in the South Cotswolds in my dream home with my lovely wife Jane, three horses, Humphrey the cat and a garage full of cars. I still race cars, do a bit of amateur ski racing and decided some time ago, I would rather burn out than rust out.

I’ll probably never retire as many might long to, because I love the buzz I get from achieving, trying new things and above all, making people happy.
