Teacakes and Tangos (Little Duck Pond Cafe) by Rosie Green. – BookLoverWorm

Today I’m reviewing another Little Duck Pond Cafe book. Many thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources for having me on the tour and sending me a copy of the book to review.

The Book: Clara’s dance school is finally open, much to the excitement of the residents of Sunnybrook. The stress-busting, lights-off ‘Dancing in the Dark’ sessions are a big hit with the Little Duck Pond Café girls. But when the school is threatened with closure, will Clara’s dream be over before it’s even begun? Love is in the air for new recruit Anika, but could her dreams of romance be about to turn sour, too?

The Review: In this story we catch up with Clara who is still working on her dance school dream, and we meet Anika, a new character who has a lot on her plate. This is another book that has it’s focus away from the main Little Duck Pond cafe, but in this one we get a new off-shoot, the Little Duckling, which I thought was a fabulous name.

We first met Clara a few books back and it was good to see her again and see how her dance school plans were progressing. The school sounded brilliant and with a lot of variety and options for those of varying skill level, experience and ability.

At the same time at this is all happening we meet Anika who is dealing with financial and employment issues, something most people can relate to at some point in their lives. With all this going on she bumps into a old collectable they start spending time together. He came across as lovely but I was wary of him, waiting for something to happen. While it did, it wasn’t at all what I expected and definitely something I did not see coming.

I really enjoyed spending time with both Anika and Clara. Clara had to deal with all the issues that crop up when you are starting a business and Anika just wanted some stability in her life.

I felt like a lot happens in this book, perhaps not more than any other but there is definitely a lot going on. However it’s handled well and everything comes together in the end. This is another fabulous addition to the series and I’m excited to see the other books that are due out soon.
