Third Person Charged in CTA Red Line Train Death of Kyle Bickham as Investigation Continues


McBounds was arrested on September 21, 2026, by the Area One Homicide Investigative Support Team at his home in the 11200 block of South Carpenter Avenue.

The investigation remains ongoing.

More arrests are possible.

The Third Arrest

On September 21, 2026, members of the Area One Homicide Investigative Support Team arrested McBounds at his home in the 11200 block of South Carpenter Avenue on Chicago’s Far South Side.

He was identified as an additional offender who used force to push Kyle Bickham from the moving CTA Red Line train on September 7, 2026.

He was placed into custody and charged accordingly.

A warrant was also issued in connection with his arrest.

The Charges

McBounds faces five charges in connection with Kyle Bickham’s death.

One felony count of first-degree murder.

Two felony counts of murder during the commission of another forcible felony.

One felony count of aggravated battery of a transit employee.

One felony count of mob action involving force by two or more persons.

A detention hearing is scheduled for September 23, 2026, at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse at 2600 South California Avenue.

Three People Now Charged

McBounds is the third person charged in connection with Kyle Bickham’s death.

A 15-year-old juvenile girl was the first person charged. She was arrested on September 11, 2026. Chicago Crime Chaser is not publishing her name or identifying information in accordance with Illinois law and our editorial standards.

Katlar Parchman, 19, was the second person charged. She was arrested on September 16 2026 and charged with first degree murder and related felonies.

The Area One Detective Division confirmed the investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests remain possible.

Who Was Kyle Bickham

Kyle Bickham was 29 years old.

He was on his way home from his shift at an Amazon warehouse in Cicero when he was pushed from the moving CTA Red Line train near the 69th Street station on September 7, 2026.

He fell onto the electrified third rail.

He was struck by an oncoming train.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family described him as a light, goofy, kind, and caring person who was always able to bring laughter to those around him.

Kyle was loved. Kyle mattered.

The Investigation Continues

The Area One Detective Division confirmed the investigation remains ongoing.

The mob action charge against all three defendants confirms that multiple people were involved in pushing Bickham from the train.

Additional arrests remain possible as the investigation continues.
