If you’re reading this, welcome to the very first post in my new blog category: Gods Eats. This space is all about honoring God by taking care of the one body He gave me—with food, faith, healing, and truth.

For most of my life, food was a survival tool—a way to soothe pain and cope with trauma. I’ve been through a lot, and as a trauma warrior princess (yes, that’s what I call myself now!), I’ve learned that healing goes deeper than just emotional or spiritual work. It involves our bodies, too. And for years, mine carried the weight of abuse, depression, and habits formed in survival mode.
Before our journey began, our meals were fast, easy, and empty. Frozen French bread pizzas. Pot pies. Takeout from Taco Bell and McDonald’s two or three times a week. We were surviving, not thriving.
But God stepped in.
James and I are both diabetic, and his numbers were reaching dangerously high levels. It was terrifying. We knew something had to change—but we didn’t know where to start.
Then we found out that Joe had developed fatty liver disease. That moment hit us like a ton of bricks. It wasn’t just about us anymore. It was about our son. Our family.
It was the WAKE-UP CALL we needed. Not next month. Not after the next holiday. It was time to get healthy, and it was time to do it now.
He whispered that it was time to clean out the bad and make room for the good—to let Him lead not only our hearts but also our health. This journey isn’t about perfection or performance. It’s about surrender. And it’s not just my journey. It’s a family effort, with God as our guide.
Over time, we started saying “yes” to real food, movement, water, prayer, and boundaries. We started saying “no” to things that drained us, numbed us, or broke down our health. And slowly but surely, God began to heal us from the inside out.
In God’s Eats, I’ll be sharing every part of the process: the meals we eat, the habits we’re building, the verses that guide us, and the truth we’re uncovering about the world we live in and the God we serve.
This isn’t just a health journey. It’s a Holy Spirit-led mission.
And I’m so glad you’re here to walk it with me. 🥗🙏🌿
