Kirti Richmond Villas Ganesha Laddu Auction Fetches Rs 1.01 Crore, 56% Lower Than Last Year
A 5-kilogram Ganesha laddu sold for ₹1.01 crore at Kirti Richmond Villas after an auction held shortly after midnight on Tuesday. Members of the community’s Shakthiman group acquired the laddu.
The winning bid was lower than the previous year’s auction at the same community. A Ganesha laddu there fetched ₹2.31 crore last year.
At Balapur, the 21-kilogram Ganesh laddu sold for a record ₹39 lakh, an increase of ₹4 lakh from last year’s ₹35 lakh. The community has held the auction tradition since 1994.
Sama Praneeth Reddy of Urban Group won the Balapur auction after bidding that included local participants and an NRI. Proceeds from the auction will go towards local development and welfare.
Among Hyderabad’s gated communities, Kohinoor by Auro Realty in HITEC City recorded the highest reported bid at ₹30.50 lakh. It was followed by My Home Bhooja at ₹25 lakh.
My Home Mangala in Kondapur fetched ₹21.11 lakh, with the winning bid placed jointly by Sambasiva Rao and Naveen. Other reported bids included ₹13.66 lakh at Raghupathi County in Pragathi Nagar, around ₹13 lakh to ₹13.5 lakh at Nellore Labodara and Indis Viva City, and ₹10.05 lakh at Devisthan Homes in Kukatpally.
In many community laddu auctions, proceeds support charity, community welfare or arrangements for the following year’s festival. At Balapur, this year’s winning bid of ₹39 lakh was ₹4 lakh higher than the previous year’s amount.
