South Telangana Braces for First Major Rainfall Since June

Widespread heavy thunderstorms are forecasted across Telangana on August 3, 2026, with several districts expected to receive significant rainfall. The weather forecast indicates particularly intense activity in Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, Gadwal, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Medak and surrounding areas. Meteorological authorities have issued advisories for residents in these districts to remain cautious as thunderstorm activity intensifies throughout the day.

The state capital Hyderabad is expected to experience dry and humid conditions until evening hours. However, after sunset, powerful thunderstorms are likely to affect many parts of the city, bringing relief from the prevailing humid weather. Residents are advised to stay indoors during the evening hours and take necessary precautions against lightning and strong winds that typically accompany such weather systems.

Over the next 24 hours, widespread thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rains are forecasted for the South and East Telangana districts. Weather experts have noted that this will mark the first major spell of rainfall for South Telangana after the June month, bringing much-needed precipitation to the region. The anticipated rainfall is expected to provide relief to agricultural activities and help replenish water resources in these districts.
