Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all strengthened their squads during the summer transfer window, but each of the Premier League heavyweights appears to be eyeing further additions to fix lingering weak spots.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the trio have already identified Bayern Munich full back Josip Stanisic as a target for the 2027 window, with the Premier League clubs keen to add defensive depth. Konur claims a fee in the region of £56 million could be required to prise the Croatia international away from the Bavarian giants, though his importance to Vincent Kompany’s plans makes any deal far from simple.

Why Liverpool and United Are Favourites Over Arsenal

Despite the shared interest, Liverpool and United look more likely to push hard for Stanisic than Arsenal. Mikel Arteta already has Jurrien Timber as his first-choice option, while the recent signing of Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa adds further cover, leaving the Gunners’ interest largely secondary.

Liverpool’s situation is different. With Conor Bradley sidelined by a long-term injury and Jeremie Frimpong struggling for form defensively, Stanisic represents a genuine chance to overhaul the right back position.

United face a similar issue, with Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui both inconsistent in recent seasons and opponents repeatedly exploiting United’s wide areas.
