Celebrity chef Laura Sharrad and her husband Max are swapping their beachside home for a tree change.

The couple are selling their Henley Beach character home, which will be auctioned later this month with a $1.8m price guide.

The three-time MasterChef Australia contestant – twice a runner up before returning to win the competition in 2025 – and her husband have lived in the circa 1915 villa at 17 Anthony St for the past four years.

The modernised home spans two levels and has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, multiple living areas and an outdoor entertainment space with built-in pizza oven.

Its kitchen and outdoor area are well known to Ms Sharrad’s social media followers, with many of her cooking videos filmed in the house.

The couple have lived in their Henley Beach home at 17 Anthony St for four years.

“I work from home so all of my recipes that go on Instagram are filmed in this kitchen,” Ms Sharrad told 7News.

“I developed my whole cookbook in this kitchen … we’ve had Christmases, first birthdays, second birthdays here so this kitchen has seen a lot of love, a lot of food, and its filled lots of bellies.”

Mrs Sharrad told the news outlet that bringing her daughter Florence, now two years old, home after she was born and sharing the beachside lifestyle with her as she’s grown were some of her best memories in the property.

The couple, who co-own Adelaide restaurants Fugazzi Bar & Dining Room and Nido Bar & Pasta, are selling the home to move to the Adelaide Hills.

“Moving to the Hills was definitely a big decision,” Ms Sharrad told 7News.

“We will be closer to my family, which is going to be lovely, so we will definitely have to build a spare bedroom for Max’s parents to come and stay, and just create a really big, beautiful hub for the whole family.”

Selling agent Thomas Crawford, of Crawford Doran, said the house was attracting strong interest ahead of auction, with several people having returned for another inspection.

“I think the auction will be busy,” he said.

While the home’s blend of character and modern features with the luxury of a backyard were proving attractive to househunters, Mr Crawford said the location was its main selling point.

“Everything there is underpinned by location,” he said.

“If you’re generally going to the beach, you’re going to Henley – it doesn’t get much better than Henley Beach.

“It can quite often not be affected by broader market conditions.”

The Block auctioneer Tom Panos will fly in from interstate to auction the home on August 20 at 6pm.

In the meantime, Mr Crawford said anyone who attended the open inspections would be treated to snacks prepared by Ms Sharrad.
