Nintendo has entered a share transfer agreement with Bandai Namco Studios to acquire shares of Bandai Namco Studios Singapore for “the purpose of strengthening its development structure.”
The result of this acquisition means Bandai Namco Studios Singapore will become a subsidiary of Nintendo and help continue to develop under the new name of Nintendo Studios Singapore Pte. Ltd.
Bandai Namco Studios Singapore has worked on Tekken, Ace Combat, Soul Calibur, and Taiko No Tatsujin, working from concept to art.
Nintendo says BNSS assisted with the development of titles, including the Splatoon series and has an “ongoing business relationship with Nintendo.” Once the purchase is approved, Nintendo plans to acquire 80 percent of BNSS’s shares on April 1, 2026. The remaining shares will be acquired after a period when the subsidiary’s operations have stabilized.
Nintendo says, “This acquisition will have only a minor effect on Nintendo’s results for this fiscal year.”
