The Witcher 3 remastered patch adjusts lighting, fixes DLSS on PC Xbox Play Anywhere, and leaves the bloom fix still in development.
CD Projekt Red has released a post-launch patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Xbox Play Anywhere, adjusting lighting and fixing a DLSS issue. The update also addresses some interiors that appeared too dark, while a separate fix related to bloom remains planned rather than included in this patch.

What the lighting patch changes
The update arrived during the remaster’s launch week, as players debated whether its new lighting looked overly bright and washed out. The current adjustments address some of that presentation, but the patch notes do not say that they resolve the broader complaints about brightness.
Bloom may be part of the problem: the effect can be turned off on PC, but not on console, and the primary report notes that path tracing and HDR can make the issue more noticeable. That distinction matters here; the live patch adjusts lighting, while a separate bloom-related fix is still forthcoming, with no release date provided.
The remaster is a substantial refresh, spanning visuals and animations as well as gameplay and quality-of-life changes, and it is free for existing owners. Its broader visual and gameplay changes help explain why the new presentation is drawing such close attention from returning players.

The current fix and what is still ahead
Alongside its lighting adjustments, the patch fixes an issue that made DLSS unavailable in the PC Xbox Play Anywhere version. CD Projekt Red also made other changes intended to bring that version into parity with the PC version.
The company said it was preparing a PC hotfix for a save-game issue and investigating problems players had submitted through its Technical Support portal. Separately, Kotaku reported that a later PC hotfix on October 1 addressed additional issues, including a voiceover problem and a save-file error. That later update should not be confused with the initial patch’s platform availability or the still-planned bloom fix.
There is more Witcher content on the horizon, too: the primary report describes Songs of the Past as a third expansion due next year, meaning 2027. Its arrival will follow the remaster’s launch and its ongoing run of fixes; details beyond that timing are not needed to make the current patch news worth keeping an eye on. The expansion is also the next major item on the Witcher 3 release schedule.
