Andrew Morgan is back on the Scottish Watches Podcast, and this time he’s brought something very special: the new Fears x Andrew Morgan Brunswick 40.5 Jump Hour “Ultimus”.

We get into the story behind the collaboration, which has been in the works since April 2025, how Andrew’s original idea evolved through multiple design iterations with the Fears team, and why the final watch ended up looking far more traditional than originally planned. We get properly nerdy about the dial, too, from the transparent frosted-sapphire minute track and jumping-hour display to the clever lume solution that lets the entire dial glow blue in the dark.

Andrew explains how the black gradient unexpectedly creates the impression of a domed dial, giving the watch a connection to the porcelain and enamel dials of early twentieth-century watches, before we get into the technical side of the 40.5mm cushion case, Sellita-based movement and Christopher Ward JJ01 jumping-hour module.

Along the way, we also talk about Andrew’s approach to collaborations, the difference between working with Fears and Christopher Ward, and his growing role in creative watch campaigns.
