The Prayers

Feel free to pray this out loud, write it in your journal, or whisper it quietly in your heart. However you pray it, pray it with faith.

A Prayer for His Protection

Heavenly Father, I come to You today lifting up my husband. I thank You that You are his protector and his shield. Your Word says in Psalm 91:11, “For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.” I stand on that promise today.

Lord, I ask that You place a hedge of protection around my husband everywhere he goes. Protect him on the road. Protect him at work.

Protect him when he walks out that door each morning and when he comes back home each night. Cover him with Your hand. Keep him safe from accidents, from harm, and from the plans of the enemy.

Let no weapon formed against him prosper. Let Your angels go before him and behind him all the days of his life.

I pray that You protect his mind as well. Guard his thoughts. Keep him from fear and from worry. Remind him that You are always with him and that he does not have to face anything alone. In Jesus name, amen.

A Prayer for His Faith

Lord, I pray that my husband grows deeper in his faith every single day. I pray that his love for You is not just something he carries on Sunday mornings but something that drives how he thinks, how he speaks, and how he lives.

Let Your Word take root in his heart and grow.

If there are areas where his faith has grown cold, I ask You to breathe life back into them. Remind him of what You have already brought him through.

Remind him of Your faithfulness. When doubt tries to creep in, let Your truth be louder. Draw him close to You, Father. Let him hunger for Your presence the way he hungers for nothing else.

I pray he becomes a man who seeks You first, a man who is not ashamed of the Gospel, and a man whose faith is a light to everyone around him. Let his walk with You be real, steady, and strong.

A Prayer for His Role as a Leader

Father, I thank You for the man You created my husband to be. I pray that You strengthen him in his role as a leader in our home. Your Word says in Joshua 24:15, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” I pray that is the cry of my husband’s heart too.

Give him wisdom in the decisions he makes for our family. Help him lead with love and not with pride. Help him lead with patience and not with anger.

Give him the kind of servant heart that reflects You. When he does not know what to do, remind him to seek You first. When he feels the weight of responsibility, remind him that You are carrying him.

I pray he leads our home in prayer, in peace, and in purpose. Let our home be one that honors You, and let it start with the man You placed at the head of it.

A Prayer for His Work and Provision

God, I lift up my husband’s work to You. Whether he loves what he does or he is still finding his way, I ask that You bless the work of his hands. Let him feel a sense of purpose in how he provides for this family. Let him know that what he does matters.

I pray for open doors, favor with those in authority over him, and blessing on everything he puts his hands to. Where there has been struggle or stress, I ask You to bring relief.

Where there has been uncertainty, bring clarity. You are our provider, Lord. You have never let us go without, and I trust that You never will.

Give my husband the strength to keep going on the hard days. Let him know that his effort is seen, by You and by me. And in all that he does, let him work as if he is working for You and not for men.

A Prayer for His Purity and Integrity

Lord, we live in a world that throws temptation at our men from every direction. I will not pretend that is not real. So I come to You boldly and ask that You guard my husband’s eyes, his heart, and his mind.

Keep him far from anything that would lead him away from You or away from our marriage. Build a wall of conviction around him. Let his conscience be sharp and let his love for You be stronger than any temptation the enemy puts in his path.

I pray he is a man of integrity, both when I am watching and when I am not. A man who does what is right because he fears You and loves You.

I also pray that he feels safe enough to be honest with me, and that our marriage is a place where we can fight these battles together and not alone.

A Prayer for His Health

Father, I pray for my husband’s health in every way. I pray for his body, that it would be strong and well. I pray for his mind, that it would be clear and at peace. I pray for his emotional health too, because so many men carry so much and never say a word about it.

If there is anything going on in his body that we do not know about yet, I ask that You reveal it and bring healing. Give him the desire to take care of himself. Give him good rest, good energy, and a long life. Let him be here for our family for many years to come.

And Lord, if he is carrying any stress, any heaviness, or any pain that he has not told me about, I ask that You meet him right there. Let him feel Your peace in a way that only You can bring.

A Prayer for His Love

Last of all, Father, I pray that my husband knows deep in his heart how much he is loved. Loved by You. Loved by me. I pray that Your love fills him so much that it spills out into everything he does and everyone he touches.

Let him love me the way You love the church, with sacrifice and commitment and tenderness. Let him love our children well. Let him love his neighbors, his coworkers, and even the difficult people in his life. Let love be what defines him.

And let us grow together, not apart. Let our marriage reflect Your goodness and Your grace for as long as we both shall live.

In Jesus name, amen.

Scriptures to Pray Over Your Husband

The Bible is full of promises you can speak over your husband by name. These are not just nice words on a page. They are living and active, and when you pray them with faith, something happens.

Pick the ones that speak to what your husband needs most right now, or pray through all of them. There is no wrong way to do this.

Psalm 91:11 “For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.”

Pray this one over your husband every time he leaves the house. Ask God to surround him with angels, to go before him on the road, and to keep him safe in every situation he walks into today.

Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”

Pray this when your husband is stressed or overwhelmed. Ask God to remind him that he does not have to figure everything out on his own. There is a tower he can run to, and that tower never falls.

Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Pray this when your husband is facing something hard, a difficult decision, a new challenge, a season that feels too heavy. Ask God to fill him with a courage that does not come from himself but from knowing God is right there with him.

Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Pray this as a reminder that your husband’s strength does not have to come from his own ability. Ask God to be his source. When he feels weak, let him draw on the power of the One who is never weak.

Psalm 1:1 to 3 “Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the Lord’s law. On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.”

Pray this over your husband’s daily decisions. Ask God to keep him surrounded by the right people and away from the wrong influence. Ask God to make him a man who is rooted in the Word, steady in every season, and fruitful in everything he puts his hands to.

Proverbs 3:5 to 6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Pray this when your husband has a big decision ahead of him. Ask God to quiet his own logic long enough to hear from Heaven. Ask God to order his steps and make the right path clear.

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Pray this on the days your husband looks tired. The kind of tired that sleep does not fix. Ask God to renew him from the inside out. Ask Him to give your husband the kind of strength that only comes from time spent in His presence.

Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind through Christ Jesus.”

Pray this over your husband’s mind. Ask God to post a guard at the door of his thoughts. Whatever is trying to steal his peace today, ask God to replace it with a peace that does not make sense by human standards but is absolutely real.

1 Corinthians 16:13 “Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong!”

Sometimes a husband just needs to be reminded of who he is. Pray this as a declaration over your man. He is a watchman. He is a man of faith. He is courageous and he is strong, because God says so.

Ephesians 5:25“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.”

Pray this one quietly and with a soft heart. Ask God to grow a deep, sacrificial love in your husband for you and for your family. Not a perfect love, but a love that keeps showing up, keeps choosing, and keeps giving even when it is hard.

Your Prayers Are Powerful

Do not ever let anyone make you feel like prayer is a small thing. A wife who prays for her husband is doing something the world cannot see but Heaven absolutely notices. You are standing in the gap for the man God gave you. You are covering him when he does not even know he needs it. That is one of the most powerful things you will ever do.

Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep trusting that God is at work even when you cannot see it yet. He hears you, and He is faithful.

You can bookmark this page and come back to it as often as you need. These scriptures are yours to pray as many times as it takes. God is always listening.
