Over the summer we wrote an article about Crossray and some of the innovative things they are doing with infrared burners over in Australia. Both their gas and electric grills have infrared heating that runs width-wise across the grill, rather than front to back.
On their electric grill, the eXtreme, they use dual 1100W carbon-fiber elements to provide infrared cooking. Now, AMD Direct, the parent company of Crossray, is bringing that grill the the US market.
We’re particularly excited to bring this product to the U.S., where it offers a solution for city dwellers and homeowners seeking an environmentally friendly way to grill.

The eXtreme comes in a tabletop model, or with a cart. The tabletop model in particular is created with people in mind that live in smaller spaces, or apartments where fires aren’t allowed.
The grill retails for $899 and has 430 square inches of cooking area. To add to the cooking space, the lid on the grill was designed to be tall to fit in larger items.
There’s a digital display to dial-in your desired temp and meat probe is included to know when your meat is done. The grill tops out at 572 degrees F for high heat cooking.
