This isn’t a food post, but it is about having fun. Last weekend Sweetie and I visited our daughter and her family in Redmond, WA and I was able to get up close and personal with her beautiful dahlias. This is her first time growing them…and they were an inexpensive impulse purchase at Grocery Outlet. I love the vibrant colors and spikey shape.
She and I also took a ferry to Whidbey Island and met a friend, plus the friend’s son and two grandkids.
Took in the farmer’s market, lunch with farm fresh ingredients, and a wonderful bookstore, plus a bit of shopping. My sandwich at lunch was a great combo of pesto, shredded and melted mozzarella and roasted veggies on a toasted baguette. Top notch!
A relaxing day with delicious food and great conversation. Hope to do it again!
