Roasted turkey tenderloin fall dinner plan with sliced turkey, autumn pasta salad, roasted butternut squash, and mini pumpkin cheesecakes.

This roasted turkey tenderloin dinner plan has all the flavors we love about fall, but in a menu that’s much easier to pull together than a traditional holiday meal. Oven-roasted turkey tenderloins are paired with autumn pasta salad and roasted butternut squash, with mini pumpkin cheesecakes for dessert.

The turkey makes the meal feel special without the work of roasting a whole bird, which makes this menu especially nice for a small gathering. The autumn pasta salad keeps things relaxed, roasted butternut squash adds plenty of seasonal flavor, and the mini pumpkin cheesecakes are an easy way to finish the meal with a little pumpkin.

Serve this for a fall weekend dinner, Sunday supper, or a small get-together when you want the meal to feel festive without going all-out.

Why This Menu Works

This menu has a nice mix of familiar fall flavors without feeling like a traditional holiday dinner. The roasted turkey and butternut squash are a natural pairing, while the autumn pasta salad adds something a little different to the plate.

The mini pumpkin cheesecakes are just enough for dessert and fit the menu perfectly. Altogether, it’s a colorful, seasonal meal that feels special but is still easy to serve.

Perfect Occasions for This Dinner Plan

  • Dinner After a Fall Outing. Serve it after an afternoon at the pumpkin patch, farmers market, or apple orchard when everyone is ready for a warm meal at home.
  • October or November Birthdays. The menu feels celebratory without requiring the formality of a holiday dinner.
  • A Pre-Holiday Family Visit. If family is visiting before Thanksgiving, this gives you the seasonal feel of the holiday without serving the traditional meal twice.
  • Dinner With Weekend Houseguests. Much of the menu can be prepared ahead, making it a good choice when you would rather spend time with your guests than stay in the kitchen.
  • A Small Friendsgiving. For four to six people, turkey tenderloin keeps the meal manageable while still giving everyone the flavors they expect from the season.

Make-Ahead Dinner Plan

One Day Ahead

  • Make the autumn pasta salad and refrigerate it until serving time. It benefits from having time to chill.
  • Bake the mini pumpkin cheesecakes and refrigerate them overnight without the topping. They can actually be baked up to two days ahead.
  • If you’re starting with a whole butternut squash, peel and cube the squash for the roasted side so that job is out of the way.

Earlier in the Day

  • Make the cream cheese whipped cream, then pipe or spoon it onto the chilled mini pumpkin cheesecakes. Return the cheesecakes to the refrigerator until dessert.
  • Check the pasta salad and give it a gentle toss.
  • Measure the seasonings for the turkey and roasted squash.

About 45 Minutes Before Dinner

  • Preheat the oven to 400 F (200 C).
  • Season the butternut squash and place it in the oven. It will need about 20–25 minutes total.
  • While the squash begins roasting, season and sear the turkey tenderloins on the stovetop.

About 25 Minutes Before Dinner

  • Transfer the seared turkey tenderloins to the oven. They roast for about 12–18 minutes, depending on their thickness.
  • Add the pecans to the butternut squash during its final 5 minutes of roasting.

Just Before Serving

  • Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Finish the roasted squash.
  • Transfer the pasta salad to a serving bowl.
  • Slice the turkey and bring everything to the table.
  • Keep the mini pumpkin cheesecakes refrigerated until you’re ready for dessert.
