Tips for Baking Egg Free

My kids have dealt with food allergies and food ethics over the years, so I’ve had a fair amount of practice baking without eggs. If a recipe only calls for 1 to 2 eggs, you can easily use Flaxseed Meal as an Egg Substitute.

We’ve done this for years and it’s worked incredibly well. Scroll down for some yummy recipes.

Egg Free Breakfast Proteins

A lot of people wonder how to get protein without eggs. An egg is only 5 grams of protein, so it’s not like it’s a huge source to draw from. You can actually get more protein from breakfast sausage, cottage cheese, whey protein powder, and Greek yogurt.

I typically incorporate one or more of these protein sources into our egg free breakfasts if they aren’t already included in the recipe.

  • Serve Greek yogurt with oatmeal or granola.
  • Add protein powder to most baking recipes. I usually sub ½ cup whey protein for ½ cup flour in the recipe.
  • Cook breakfast sausage or ham to serve on the side.
