This Friday we were headed down to Bunkers Hill in Nottingham in search of Bomba Notts to check out their Smash Burgers
Early spoiler alert, I had heard that they were serving up decent burgers but wasn’t expecting just how goddam good they are.
THE BURGER MENU

Their ‘Spaghetti Western’ menu with the burgers all named after Famous Cowboys and familiar names from the American West may be fun for the kids and a nice idea for a theme but it made it tricky for this old guy to spot the burger I really wanted, which was a classic bacon cheeseburger
BILLY THE KID

I had the double smashed cheese burger with an optional extra of bacon. They call it “Billy the Kid” on their Spaghetti Western menu. Menu description was plain an simple ‘Double Patty, American Cheese, Ketchup’ sounded like a classic offering
The well smashed burger patties are meaty and juicy with excellent crispy edges. So well crisped that fragments of meat falls off like burger crumbs. I liked that 😍
The bacon added a good bit of crunch to each bite and the molten cheese blanket inside the soft brioche bun was ever so comforting
This was an exceptionally satisfying burger to eat apart from not calling it a cheeseburger 😇🤪 I cannot fault it in any way 👍❤️
WYATT EARP

My companion had the cheeseburger with onions and pickles added (The Wyatt Earp) and also declared it to be excellent
The burgers come with some really quite decent fries, not too many to detract yet just enough to balance your palate from all that meatiness as you take bites of each

Very happy to finally eat these burgers from @bombanotts and looking forward to another visit
For the record the beers are pretty good here as well at Bunkers Hill 😎🍻
