Friends. Athleta has been a long-standing go-to place for me to find great workout wear and most importantly for this time of year, loungewear. Haha. Right? Gah. And I could not bring myself to try on leggings the other day, so loungewear it was! I blame December. And perimenopause. Just give me all the coziness.
So I sought out the matching sets I could find in colors and textures I liked and tried them on the other day with a few coats and jackets that spoke to me. It was admittedly a quick run-through in the store, but a worthwhile one. There are some fabulously soft fabrics at Athleta right now, friends. I’m so impressed.
Cute Loungewear, Sweats, and Coats at Athleta
Do not skip on Athleta’s colors right now, y’all. I am loving their palette so much right now. I’m not a big fan of brights and they have some really lovely deep shades that are taking my breath away. Don’t worry, if you are a brights fan there are still a few of those, too, but their neutrals are even interesting and unique right now. Let’s get into the list of what I tried on…
1 | This Soft Halo Flannel Puffer
Coat (M) | Top (M) | Bottoms (M)
So…I returned this exact jacket just over a week ago and then when I went back in it was calling to me again lol. So it’s now mine. It’s incredibly soft, so pretty and a joy to put on.
Sizing: It’s perfectly sized to layer and on major sale right now. I think Shana also owns it. Highly recommend. It comes in some Petite and Tall sizes and in quite a few color options.
2 | All The Fleece Sweats – They’re So Good
Top (S) | Bottoms (S) | Sneakers
If you haven’t tried Athleta’s fleece out you MUST. It’s incredibly well-made and so soft without feeling too heavy or too thin. This is the Elm color and it’s gorgeous. I want to try it all right now and I have a sweats problem so they didn’t come home with me BUT I am still thinking about them and will probably wind up snagging this exact set soon. They have a hold on me.
Sizing: They run big and I’m realizing sizing up isn’t always the most flattering on my shorter frame, so I’m in Smalls in both pieces here. I can tell they’ll relax just a touch, too, and surprisingly weren’t too tight across my butt. I liked the sweats paired with a different top, too (more on this top + matching pants below.) I think it’s smart to make sure they’re versatile and don’t only work with the matching crewneck.
Top (M) | Bottoms (S) | Sneakers
3 | This Waffle Lounge Set
Top (M) | Bottoms (M) | Sneakers
These are incredibly soft and comfy and I want to live in them. I do not really need more loungewear but I am so freaking tempted to grab these.
Sizing: The top is a little bit cropped so you may want to layer a tank underneath (you can see how they did that on the model on the site) but the pants can be worn high enough that it didn’t really bother me, especially worn as loungewear at home. (And the cropped openness means this gal wouldn’t get too hot.) Also in some Tall + Petite sizes.
4 | My Favorite Quilted Packable Puffer
Puffer (M)
I’m actually giving up my long loved Pippa jacket from Free People after finding this and the puffer above. The Pippa is so great and I might get one again in a brighter shade (I had a lilac color) but these from Athleta are just taking over right now.
Sizing: This one is so light and easy to wear and in the most gorgeous green. It’s also cozy though layered and great for travel. True to size with room for a sweater or sweatshirt underneath. Also in taupe and black, in Petite + Tall.
5 | This Cozy Sherpa Jacket
Jacket (S but would get M)
I love this. It’s not too too thick and heavy so I think I’d actually wear it more than some other sherpa-style jackets.
Sizing: They only had limited sizes in my store, so I’m wearing a S, but I would stick with my regular size M for more sleeve length.
6 | This Jetset Bomber With Cute Details
Jacket (S) | Top (M) | Pants (M)
The ruching on the outer sleeves is so so cute on this jacket. It would be perfect for layering this time of year or a great top layer on warmer days. I love it.
Sizing: Runs a little bit big AND it has side zips at the hips so you can give yourself a little more room without having to size up. LOVE!
7 | This Seasoft Super Cozy Matching Set
Top (M) | Pants (M) | Sneakers
This pic doesn’t do this set justice. I think with my adidas and necklace stack it reads too Staten Island track suit vibes lol, but with cozy Uggs and dantier bling? Omg this set would be amazing to live in. It’s also not too heavy for those of us who get too warm. It’s SO soft. Oh and I missed that the top has a drawstring at the bottom, but if you click through to the site you can see it styled cropped. SO fun.
Sizing: TTS and incredible. Comes in quite a few colors and some Tall + Petite sizes, too.
8 | Another Sporty, Easy-to-Wear Bomber Jacket
Jacket (M) | Top (S) | Bottoms (S) | Sneakers
This jacket had shirt style details that I liked, making it great for a casual office. It’s sleek and simple without being boring.
Sizing: True to size. Comes in a couple other colors, Tall + Petites.
As I always wish for here, I hope this was helpful if it’s been a minute since you’ve been into an Athleta store, too! Until next time…
