Raising a Glass to Texas Wine Month – 2025 Edition
I swear I blinked and we were halfway through September. I’ll wake up tomorrow and it will be Christmas. That’s how fast time seems to be going. My grandmother always told me that time seems to pass quicker the older you get. Yep. Anywho, this time of year means it’s time for Texas Wine Month. And since it lands in October, it coincides with #ComeOnOctober month. Cheers to drinking and celebrating Texas wine in October and all throughout the year.
Come Over October is a global campaign celebrated in October that encourages wine drinkers to invite friends, colleagues, neighbors, and family to “come over” to a home, a restaurant, a winery or wherever people gather to share wine and fellowship. It’s meant to pay homage to wine’s 9,000-year history as a communal beverage that brings people together. Given the pressure that the wine industry has been under, I love the message behind this campaign. Wine has been enjoyed for millennia (in moderation by most) and has been a celebrated way to bring people together. I don’t know why these neo-prohibitionists are going after it!

The Texas wine industry has some amazing events planned during the month. This is such a great time to head out there. In fact, I’m quite excited for my own October adventure out there. In between, I’ll be enjoying some Texas vino and sharing it with friends. So many events, so little time…
How about a one-day deep dive on all things Texas wine? Texas Hill Country Wineries’ Hill Country Wine Camp will allow attendees to spend an entire day immersed in the world of Texas wine. You’ll be able to learn directly from Texas growers, winemakers, and culinary experts through engaging sessions that cover everything from the challenges and triumphs of growing grapes in Texas, to the winemaking process, the diverse varietals that thrive here, and how to pair them with bold Texas cuisine. Think Texas sparkling wine + oysters, build-your-own charcuterie workshop, a signature varietal tasting, and more.
When: Sunday, October 12, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Where: Texas Wine Collective
Tickets: $200 which includes breakfast, lunch, happy hour, wines and education. All the stuff!
Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival
Attend the premier culinary and wine experience in the Texas Hill Country. Experince first hand the talent, creativity, and innovation that define Hill Country food and wine. This is such a popular evet, and many of the badges sold out at “go.” But there’s still time to secure tickets for the flagship Grand Tasting (which incudes all food offerings, wine tastings, plus beer and distillery samples), the Sunday Waterfront Brunch, and more. And I love that portion of festival proceeds will benefit the Hill Country Hospitality Relief Fund, organized by the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce Events 501(c)(3) Foundation, to support hospitality professionals impacted across the region.

C.L. Butaud Celebration of Fall Dinner
Y’all know I love ALL of their wines, so what an opportunity to enjoy them with an incredible dinner hosted by winemaker Randy Hester. The multi-course dinner will highlight the amazing portfolio paired with a menu created by Chef Kristian Allen (of Uchi, Vox Table, Kronnerburger, Del Popolo & Justine’s Brasserie). I took a peek at the menu and it looks ah-mazing. Think grilled octopus, marinated Texas quail, Wagyu beef belly, and more. Not to be missed!

Texas Wine Month Passport
Always a way to give your wallet a little wine tasting love, the Texas Wine Month Passport program allows participants to enjoy a number self-guided tastings throughout the entire month. In addition to picturesque views and great Texas hospitality, passport holders will enjoy a month-long, self-guided experience that features complimentary tastings, exclusive discounts, and discovering award winning wines at 45+ unique Hill Country Wineries. Embrace Come On October and bring some friends!

Tickets: $85 individual / $120 couple. And $5 from each ticket supports the Texas Hill Country Wine Scholarship Fund.
North Texas Wine Country Fall Wine Trail, Dallas Metroplex
Want to go hiking down the wine trail a little further north? The North Texas Wine Trail has you covered. Receive tastings at ~40 award winning North TX wineries throughout the month of October + first weekend of November. Explore scenic vineyards, vibrant tasting rooms, and the delicious wines of North Texas! Your passport grants you access to a minimum of 3 tastings at each of the participating wineries (over $400 value in tastings!) redeemable during the 33 days of the trail. This wine trail is completely self-paced, so you can create your own schedule that works for you! Be sure you check the business hours and reservation policies before visiting the wineries to make the most of your trips.

Becker Vineyard’s Chef’s Table
Join Becker Vineyards for their first Chef’s Table Dinner in the Lavender Haus Special Events Hall on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The Welcome Reception begins at 5:00 PM with a light wine and cheese reception. A sit-down dinner follows at 5:30 PM. Relish a multi-course menu created by their Estate Chef Tyler Anderegg, paired with Becker Vineyards’ award-winning wines. There’s no better way to spend a Saturday than with good food, great wine, and enjoyable company.

Savor the Flavor at Ron Yates Winery
Ron Yates Winery is celebrating Texas Wine Month at their tasting room each weekend! Whether you want to do a traditional wine tasting or grab a glass or bottle, you’ll have to opportunity to nosh on free eats as well as enjoy music, football, and more. Each weekend will feature live music and complimentary food. And for you college football fans, one of the weekends will feature a watch party for the October 22 UT vs. OU game, complete with fair food. Definitely a fun way to hang with your peeps and enjoy some Texas vino.
When: October 4, 11, 18, and 25. The winery is open 11am to 6pm 7 days a week.

Tickets: None. Food and space are first come, first serve.
Texas Wine Collective’s Fair Fare & Wine Pairing
Funnel cake! Fried Oreos! Caramel apples! You know what this means! It’s FAIR SEASON which gives us all the reason we need to enjoy TWC’s inaugural Fair Fare & Wine Pairing. So put on your best fair attire, and grab your seat for this special experience featuring fair foods paired with fabulous fall wines. Four Sessions: 11:00am, 1:00pm, 2:30pm, and 4:00pm. I so love them for this! Making wine fun and un-pretentious.

Wedding Oak Wine Train
Seriously one of my fave events is riding the Wedding Oak Wine Train. Passengers will enjoy a 2-hour train ride from Cedar Park spanning the South San Gabriel River while enjoying an intimate talk and wine tasting with members of the Wedding Oak family. In Burnet, bottles to-go, and food are available for purchase during a 2-hour layover. Then relax and enjoy the ride as the train returns to the Cedar Park Depot in the afternoon. Your ticket includes a 2-hour train ride and a tasting-sized flight of 5 wines.
When: Sunday, October 12
Where: Cedar Park Depot to Wedding Oak Winery in Burnet.
Tickets: The train rolls for $105 per person. Can’t make this one? They do it again next month.
