I appreciate when a picture book series successfully ends. I’m always surprised when a book focusing on each season doesn’t manage to have four books. A great collection to have.

Doctor De Soto by William Steig
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had attended a Jon Klassen event and he mentioned William Steig so I sought out a story that I hadn’t read- or remembered reading. It was an interesting story and style very reminiscent of a Saturday morning cartoon. I enjoyed it.

Doctor De Soto Goes to Africa by William Steig
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This sequel was a surprise and, although I didn’t enjoy it as much as the original, I would have loved to read more of the De Soto’s.
