No More Immigration Stamp on Boarding Pass From September 1 – India’s Bureau of Immigration Goes Digital

When you decide to travel abroad, remember that your travel is about to get a lot easier. Starting from September, your travel is going to become a bit more digital-friendly, as you will not be required to carry your physical boarding pass or get an immigration stamp.

International travelers flying out of India will no longer have to queue up to get their physical boarding pass or immigration stamp. The reason for this is that, starting from September 1st, international travelers will be able to get their immigration clearance via their digital boarding pass on their mobile phones.

In regard to this change in rule, the Bureau of Immigration clarified that the previous rule was causing a lot of trouble to passengers. Along with causing trouble to passengers, it was also noticed that incorrect placement of the stamps at times made reading of boarding passes very hard. This new feature aims to make travel more convenient and avoid stamping errors.

This change is a major initiative to digitize the process by eliminating the old paperwork, which will prove to be very convenient for both passengers and the administration.
