Pellegrini completes recovery, could start vs Como

Lorenzo Pellegrini is ready to return to the forefront of Roma.

The number 7 hasn’t played since April 10th, the day of the Giallorossi’s home game against Pisa.

Then, a tear in the rectus femoris tendon in his right thigh prevented him from playing and training with his teammates.

The Roma midfielder required surgery and missed 12 games between the end of last season and the start of this one. Pellegrini has now recovered and completed his rehab.

Pellegrini is eager to return to the pitch for Roma.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, after the break, he will be a real reinforcement for Gian Piero Gasperini, who pushed for his continued presence at the Giallorossi and a subsequent contract renewal.

The Grugliasco-born coach’s desire weighed heavily on the club’s decision to extend his partnership with the number 7 for another year.

At Como, upon restarting, Pellegrini is likely to start. Gasperini doesn’t yet have a starter on the left flank; for now, Soulé and Mora are alternating. At least until January, when the transfer window opens, the Giallorossi midfielder is the clear candidate to dominate that position.
