There is an upcoming auction being held on the 8-9th of November by Phillips under the title Phillips Decade One (2015-2025). I usually do not comment on upcoming auctions but there are a number of Seiko and Credor models included in these lots, and it is interesting to see the increased recognition of the brands. The Decade One branding by Phillips is a little confusing, and the auction overview on the site does not explain it at all, but I think it is likely referencing the topic specific watch auctions they have held for the last decade.
There are a pair of Credor models included in the auction as well as four Seiko models, with a 6139 chronograph, an Astronomical Observatory Chronometer, and a couple of vintage Grand Seiko lots.
Looking at these in order, lot number 42 is a Credor GBBD963 skeleton model. This watch was announced in 2016 at the same time as the Credor Fugaku tourbillion, and I was lucky enough to be able to see both models at an event during my trip to Japan that year. This watch is a stunning hand engraved model supervised by master craftsman Kiyoshi Terui. The watch has a wave motif inspired by the very famous Japanese woodblock print “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa” by Katsushika Hokusai. It has an 18K white gold case and utilizes the thin 6899 hand wound calibre. This was a limited edition of 30 units.
