Rajasthan Weather Update: Yellow Alert for Rain in 17 Districts, Heavy Showers Likely on August 7–8
The Monsoon is alive in the northeastern districts of Rajasthan. The Met Department gave a yellow alert for rains in 17 districts on Wednesday (August 5). It is forecast light to moderate rains in several areas in the divisions of Bharatpur, Bikaner, and Jaipur. There is also a warning of heavy to very heavy rains in some districts of the Kota and Bharatpur divisions on August 7 and 8.
It was stated by the Met Department that due to the presence of Cyclonic Circulation over eastern Rajasthan, Rainfall activity will continue in northeastern districts for next few days. Thus, there may be occasional rains in Bharatpur, Alwar, Karauli, Dausa, Jaipur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, and neighboring places.
During the last 24 hours, several districts, including Karauli, Bharatpur, Alwar, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu, Sriganganagar, and Sikar, recorded good rainfall. The highest rainfall of 66 mm was recorded in the Rarah area of Deeg. Rainfall of up to two inches in many areas of Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Alwar, and Hanumangarh brought relief from the heat and humidity.
The effect of the rain was also clearly visible on the temperature. Maximum temperatures dropped by about 5 degrees Celsius in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Dausa, Pilani, and Alwar. On the other hand, weak rainfall activity in western and southern Rajasthan led to a slight increase in temperatures. On Tuesday, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at 38 degrees Celsius in Dungarpur.
