Saudi Arabia’s Sheybarah Resort: Mirror-Like Water Villas, Desert Villas and Red Sea Views
Have you ever come across an island in the middle of the ocean that appears to be straight out of a science fiction film? The Sheybarah Resort located in Saudi Arabia’s Sheybarah Island is just such an island.
The villas on the island appear like spacecrafts or UFOs in the clear waters of the Red Sea. In all there are 73 villas and of these, 38 villas are above water while 35 villas have been constructed on the peaceful shores.
These 38 villas located in the middle of the water will leave you mesmerized with their amazing construction. The exterior walls of these villas are made of stainless steel and act like mirrors reflecting everything around it, making it appear like they are floating in midair. The shape of these circular villas has been taken from that of coral reefs and allows you the option of either a single bedroom or double bedroom with your own private pool and an outside sitting area. According to Red Sea Global, even the direction and positioning of the moon was kept in mind while installing these villas in the ocean.
To avoid disturbing the island’s natural landscape, a unique approach was adopted. These overwater villas were not built directly on-site, but were constructed elsewhere and then brought into the ocean. Initially, it took nine hours to set the first villa underwater, but as technology improved, the final villa was installed in place in less than two hours.
