Smoke & Mirrors Imperial Smoked Ale – Coal Harbour Brewing « Mike’s Craft Beer

From Coal Harbour Brewing in Vancouver comes their “Smoke & Mirrors Imperial Smoked Ale”.  This beer won Silver in the Smoked Beer category at the Wold Beer Cup 2018.  The beer pours a black opaque colour with a brown head.  The aroma consists smoke, roasted malts and earth.  The flavour is of dark fruits, roasted malts, earth, smoke, salt, some bitterness, sweetness and a hint of chocolate.  The alcohol content comes in at 8.5%.  In the past I was not a huge fan of this beer and I am still not a huge fan of the style but with slight adjustment in the recipe I am really digging this beer now!
