Hello July!
I have decided to split my Summer Holiday What’s On Guide across July and August this year as quite frankly, they are just becoming too big to cover the full six weeks. Look out for August’s guide towards the end of July.

Woodhorn is once again hosting their Wild Wednesdays across the summer holidays. We thoroughly enjoyed this last year and would recommend to everyone for a cute wholesome activity with kids. There’s also a Classic & Vintage Car Rally on 12 July and Arts & Crafts in the Ashington Hut. All available at no additional cost.

The big event of the summer is the return of Gosforth Civic Beer Festival which takes place from 31 July – 2 August. It’s £8 for an adult wristband which includes entry across the full weekend plus a commemorative reusable beer glass to take home. Kids are welcome and under 18s GO FREE.
You can expect fantastic live music, street food vendors and 30 beer taps.

The Christmas shows at Northern Stage are always filled with magic and leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling. I’d highly recommend to families with children aged 5+ including teens (or even just as adults who love festive magic).

Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle City Centre has put together a lovely events programme with something for everyone this summer. Highlights include:
– Mon 27 July – Little Artists+ (up to age 7)
Enjoy movement, motion, gallery exploration & fun activities during this practical art session using a range of materials. Your ticket also includes a snack and storytime and the end of the session. £6 per child.
– Wednesdays & Thursdays across Summer – Art Camp (7-12 year olds)
Explore the galleries, discuss art and create your own masterpiece in sessions led by a professional art educator. £15 per child (half day session).
– Tuesdays & Thursdays across Summer – Make & Muse Family Crafting (7 – 12 year olds)
Take a tour of the gallery collections and get hands on with family crafting. £7 per child.
