Jammu, June 9: Security forces on Monday recovered and safely defused a rusted mortar shell in the border area of Samba district, officials said.
The shell was found in the Basantar river area based on inputs provided by local residents. Following the alert, a team of security personnel reached the spot and retrieved the old shell.
Authorities later confirmed that the shell was safely defused, preventing any potential threat in the region.
