Fairy Tail RE:FANTASIA Chapter 08 Manga Review Review
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
Erasure impresses Natsu with his fighting ability. Natsu learns that Erasure quit the Council due to corruption. Instead, he created a lacrima guild. As such, he created the White Lacrima to help him erase everything unnecessary. Erasure states that thanks to Ivan, he can use Fairy Law via the lacrima. Thus Erasure believes he will be able to erase everything not needed. When Lucy, Natsu, and Happy learn that Ivan wanted to use Laxus to gain control of Fairy Tail, they smirk.
Meanwhile, Laxus and a transformed Mirajane start battling Erasure’s creations. At the same time, Erasure attempts to evoke Fairy Law. However, the lacrima shatters, taking down the cavern. Elsewhere at a safe distance from a tower, Ivan laughs at the resulting explosion and cave in at Onibas. Members of Fairy Tail there flee as an enraged Laxus rushes to Natsu. Together, they punch out Erasure.
Thoughts/Review:
Things wind down with Fairy Tail RE:FANTASIA Chapter 08. Obviously, with only nine chapters for this limited run series, we couldn’t have too much of a story. However, I have to laugh at this complicated plan of Ivan’s in order to eliminate Erasure as a business rival. You hire someone to build you a lacrima. You make up some rubbish about taking over Fairy Tail. You capture Laxus to “protect” him. And then you wait for the sucker to blow himself up using the lacrima.
Whatever.
Ivan’s plan may have just been for larks as far as I’m concerned. He could have gotten rid of “business rivals” (whatever that is) any number of less complicated ways. I suppose it is supposed to be the, “Oh, this person wants to do X. Let me give him the tools to fuel his own destruction. Isn’t that lovely, hmmm?”
As to Erasure, since I know nothing about his other incarnation, I suspect I’m missing stuff about his character. His whole goal of erasing things he deems not needed is so vague as to be laughable. Again, not sure how this makes him a business rival for Ivan, but whatever.
Next chapter, I figure some final female fan service followed by the usual Fairy Tail antics.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, Fairy Tail RE:FANTASIA Chapter 08 pretty much wraps up this story, such as it is. Can’t say I was that jazzed to be honest with you. Oh well. Onto the final chapter.
