DOWNLOAD: Sarkodie – Deja Vu (feat. KiDI)

Sarkodie and KiDi take on the hard work of repairing a romantic relationship on “Deja Vu”, a collaboration built around regret, accountability and the hope of a second chance.

At its core, the song is an apology to a partner hurt by past mistakes. Sarkodie reflects on failing to appreciate the relationship while he had it, and on realising the cost only once it began to fall apart. His plea to make things right goes beyond asking for forgiveness. He acknowledges the pain he caused and accepts that genuine change has to be shown, not just promised.

The title captures a particular fear: being pulled back into the same emotional pain. Sarkodie does not want another cycle of mistakes, separation and regret. He is willing to change, rebuild trust and commit to a future with his partner, yet the song also recognises that words alone may not undo the damage already done.

KiDi adds a melodic warmth that suits the romantic subject matter. His established approach to love-themed music pairs naturally with Sarkodie’s direct storytelling, and together they place reconciliation at the centre of the record.

“Deja Vu” is the title track of Sarkodie’s upcoming five-track EP, DeJaVu, scheduled for release on 27 November 2026. It is also the project’s first single, arriving on 16 October.

In its focus on remorse and second chances, the song presents love as more than longing after a breakup. It asks for honest recognition of past failures and a conscious effort not to repeat them.
