Police Forward Case File For Charging Authority Against Senior Airline Managers

The police have recently submitted a case file to the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) to seek charging authority against former senior managers of a UK airline.

The case concerns the actions of managers involved in the alleged falsifying of a commander’s Flight Duty Period and taking measures against a pilot who refused to fly while fatigued. The police are pursuing charging authority against the mentioned managers for ‘attempting to pervert the course of justice’.

Due to the pilot union BALPA’s lack of support for the original case at trial and the CAA’s involvement in concealing the case, the police only became aware of the details through the release of the book entitled Pulling Wings From Butterflies. The book(s), along with the supporting evidence and case file have now been provided to the CPS and the police now await the CPS’s final decision.
