God’s Timing: The Six-Year Journey Behind The Sunday Reset

God's timing and the six-year journey behind The Sunday Reset book

Have you ever felt like God’s timing is asking you to take a step of faith only to leave you waiting longer than you ever expected?

Maybe you thought a door would open quickly.

Maybe you believed an answer was right around the corner.

Maybe you assumed the journey would make sense sooner than it did.

I’ve been there.

What many people don’t realize is that The Sunday Reset wasn’t born overnight.

In fact, the journey behind this book began more than six years ago with an unexpected opportunity that completely changed the direction of my life. What followed was a season of waiting, closed doors, uncertainty, and learning to trust God’s timing in ways I never expected.

Why God’s Timing Rarely Matches Our Timing

If I’m honest, I assumed this process would move much faster.

When the opportunity first appeared, I thought I was stepping into something God had clearly placed in front of me.

And yet year after year, things stalled.

Doors closed.

Plans changed.

Conversations ended.

Projects stopped moving.

At times I found myself asking:

“Lord, did I hear You correctly?”

“Was this really Your plan?”

“Should I just quit?”

Looking back, I can see that God wasn’t withholding something from me.

He was preparing me for it.

What Waiting Taught Me About God’s Timing

Those six years weren’t empty years.

They were years filled with motherhood, grief, family challenges, business pivots, a global pandemic, rebranding, launching a podcast, pursuing certification, and learning lessons I could not have learned any other way.

Most importantly, God taught me something I desperately needed to learn:

If He’s not in it, I don’t want it.

For someone who naturally loves progress, momentum, and achievement, that lesson didn’t come easily.

But it changed everything.

The Problem With Wanting Immediate Results

I think many of us can relate to the Israelites.

When we read Scripture, it’s easy to wonder why they struggled to trust God after seeing His faithfulness over and over again.

Then life happens.

Waiting happens.

Disappointment happens.

And suddenly we realize we’re doing the exact same thing.

We forget His past faithfulness because we’re focused on our current frustration.

I know I did.

That’s why this story isn’t really about a book.

It’s about learning to trust God’s timing even when we can’t see the full picture.

The Unexpected Lessons Behind The Sunday Reset

One of the most surprising parts of this journey is that the message itself became clearer because of the waiting.

If this opportunity had happened six years ago, The Sunday Reset would have been a completely different book.

During those years God refined:

  • My understanding of health
  • My philosophy around mind, body, and spirit
  • My views on stress and nervous system health
  • My understanding of Sabbath and rest
  • My approach to stewardship
  • The Sunday Reset framework itself

The waiting wasn’t wasted.

It became part of the message.

Why The Sunday Reset Matters Right Now

As I looked around, I realized that so many Christian women were spiritually hungry but physically exhausted.

They loved God.

They wanted to honor Him.

But they were overwhelmed.

Stressed.

Burned out.

Disconnected from how God designed their bodies and minds to function.

That’s when the message became clear:

God designed life to run on rhythm, not chaos.

The Sunday Reset became my way of helping women reconnect their mind, body, and spirit with God’s design through simple weekly rhythms.

One Final Thought About God’s Timing

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past six years, it’s this:

God’s timing is rarely the timing we would choose.

But His timing is always better than the timing we try to force.

Looking back, I can see that every delay, every closed door, every season of waiting was preparing me for something I couldn’t yet see.

Maybe you’re in a season like that right now.

If so, I hope this encourages you:

The waiting is not wasted.

Keep trusting.

Keep showing up.

Keep following the next step God puts in front of you.

Because sometimes what feels like a delay is actually preparation.

And often, God’s timing makes sense only when you’re looking backward.
