Hello and welcome back to the Schapera Show where Viv and Neil explore this big adventure called life.

This is the part of the show where I, Vivien, talk to and about crystals.

Our crystal guest today is Aegirine.

A-E-G-I-R-I-N-E.

It is possible that you don’t know Aegirine and yet it is equally possible that you know Aegirine very well because it occurs together with Malawi smoky quartz, a very sought-after type of crystal and for good reason I might add.

Aegirine is like licorice.

It can be very dark green that looks black and it can be black.

The name comes from Ager, the Scandinavian god of the sea.

Now I looked in Melody and she has some very interesting things to say about Aegirine.

Aegirine is this one and following personal convictions and morality, provides strength to be true to the self, dispenses with the effects of group pressure, generates energy, concentrates positive energy in an area, amplifies the healing energy of other minerals, strengthens personal integrity and conviction, treats deficiencies of the immune system, protects one against negative energy and psychic attack and can be used to remove emotional blockages.

Quite a list isn’t it?

And as per usual I wonder how does one stone do all of that? What is its key note? What is its key principle?

And we’re going to find out because there is one especially with Aegirine.

Now that last one, removing emotional blockages, is the one that I discovered on my own when doing my research for crystal surgery.

And just to remind you the way I do the research is to identify a recurring property and once I have it in words that’s when I go to Melody and check whether she mentioned the particular property in her book.

I found that this method is more confirming than it try and look up which mineral purportedly has the desired property and then research the mineral because preconceived ideas are basically anathema to effective research for pretty obvious reasons.

So to finish the thought, in crystal surgery I use Aegirine together with Danburite with calcite to break up and clear emotional blockages which occur like knots in the energy field to literally scrape away with the calcite that’s on the Sybarite and then clear it with Aegirine.

When I asked my research assistants about Aegirine, including how it is formed, I got the following interesting answer.

Aegirine is one of the most structurally sophisticated minerals.

At first glance it appears almost severe, I can confirm that, black, blade-like, narrow, straightforward.

Yet that first impression is misleading.

Aegirine is not simple at all.

It is compressed complexity, a mineral that says a great deal with very little visible ornamentation.

In other words, no frills.

Geologically, Aegirine is a sodium ion silicate pyroxene that forms in chemically unusual alkaline igneous environments.

Unlike quartz which builds broad network lattices, pyroxenes form long repeating chain structures.

This chain geometry naturally produces elongated directional crystals, blades, needles, sprays, striated lines extending with remarkable precision along a dominant axis.

It’s this precision and this blade-like appearance that is worth giving Aegirine its qualities, remember.

The visible form is an honest expression of the internal architecture.

Geometry is not decorative here, it is functional.

In my note on this, I think this is why I find holding Aegirine to be comforting and reassuring.

I have this big chunk of it and I hold it and it is actually amazing to hold.

The combination of sodium and iron is especially interesting.

Iron contributes density, grounding, seriousness, and structural integrity, those physical qualities.

Then sodium contributes conductivity, transmission, and flow.

That’s chemical properties.

It’s the chemistry of sodium that’s so important.

Together they create a mineral that triggers directed movement.

Aegirine does not sprawl emotionally or aesthetically, it behaves more like a precision instrument, coherent, exact, and uncompromisingly organized.

So the smoky coats of Aegirine from Malawi is extraordinary because of the relationship between the minerals.

The Aegirine does not overwhelm the coats and the coats does not dilute the Aegirine.

They remain distinct while functioning coherently together.

So after reading this I decided to explore Aegirine more and what that means for me is to try it out on my clients one after the other and

I began to notice a pattern.

The Aegirine seemed to be sifting and sorting, separating wheat from chaff, clearing noise and extraneous signals that confuse, and peeling away dynamics that overlay underlying fundamentals.

So in other words I took the Aegirine and I used it on the energy field of each of my clients one after the other unless there was something else that I definitely was wanting to spend the time on.

Anyway by so doing I got a single gestalt that I could then examine in each client.

So for one who was explaining something to me in the word so it’s just not connecting into meaning and then I used the Aegirine and then the meaning came forward and I was able to ask a very pertinent question and I said I just simply said are you angry and boy did that open the floodgates because that’s exactly what was going on and everything that she was saying was designed to suppress that but Aegirine managed to peel all of that away and reveal what was the underlying dynamic which is what I was trying to get at.

What I can say is that what I perceived happening in the energy field was a form of integration analogous to making cheese sauce.

At first the mixture seems wrong and unrecognizable but as one proceeds the ingredients flour butter milk and cheese begin to combine into the desired consistency creating one substance or gestalt namely in this case the cheese sauce.

For this reason to use another cooking analogy Aegirine reminds me of a mission and rated chef’s knife.

The chef’s knife respects structure it separates fibers cleanly removes what does not belong and preserves the integrity of what remains.

It’s precision derives from angle alignment restraint and continuity of motion not strength or force.

Aegirine carries this quality of elegant precision.

When I asked Aegirine what message it has for you this is what it told me I don’t look complicated but I am by which I mean I may look simple because all I look like is a black blade but becoming a simple looking black blade is actually a complex affair.

What I am saying is captured in the expression you cannot judge a book by its cover whilst the cover may try to symbolize what is inside the book it cannot possibly fully convey the contents especially if that content is multifaceted and layered.

You can even apply the no judgment rule to the whole and to every microcosm of the whole don’t judge people don’t judge situations and most importantly stop judging yourself there is no need to judge rather sift and sort clear the noise peel away the overlay and then allow what’s left to coalesce into a gestalt and apply your understanding to that gestalt rather than judging surface appearances.
