Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures are bringing Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train back to Canadian theatres this month. The hit movie will be available in 4K theatrically for the first time and will offer a sneak peek at the upcoming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle film, the first of a trilogy intended to end the series, that is set to be released in September. Mugen Train was originally released in Japan in October 2020, with screenings hitting Canada and the United States the following April. However, COVID closures limited its initial screenings to just a handful of Canadian provinces.
Mugen Train is an adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer manga series. It picks up where the first 2019 anime season ended. Haruo Sotozaki directed the film at Ufotable, with Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina composing the score.
Falling forever into an endless dream… Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive to their next mission on the Mugen Train, where over 40 people have disappeared in a very short period of time. Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen within the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the Mugen Train on track to despair.
