Ripley brings Franky to an ancient scientific facility covered in vines and trees, which he finds rather out of place in a country filled with warriors. Lilith and Bonney greet Franky from inside as they had found the place first, though it was actually because the two of them got lost. Ripley warns them that she heard alarms in the distance and can now warn them about any potential dangers nearby. Lilith tells Franky that according to her estimate, the facility has been in Elbaph for three millennia.
Franky finds this hard to believe, but Ripley supports her, saying they have no records of the building. Regardless, Lilith decides to make the facility her new base of operations. Just as Franky asks to look inside himself, Bonney warns them that something is behind them. It turns out to be one of Killingham’s MMAs, which has taken the form of a lightning cloud with a face. At first Franky thinks it is something natural to Elbaph, but Ripley explains that the opposite is true.
In the western village, the large skeletal MMA known as a Draugr begins its attack on the village, forcing the warriors to sober up and fight back. Unfortunately, Dorry and Brogy are absent to give the giants commands because they apparently drank too much and ran to the bathroom. The giants prepare to move the Straw Hats away from the fight, but Usopp tells them they want to help, albeit very quietly. Colon is also forbidden from fighting despite claiming that he is a warrior and the son of Gaban. Instead, he is told to take shelter with the other children.
Nami, Jinbe, and Usopp want to help
Meanwhile, Nami tells Jarul about their expedition to the castle. He also learns from the injured guards about the Shanks lookalike and another intruder who was using a strange power. Jinbe believes it was the work of a Devil Fruit and suggests that these large monsters could be the work of the unknown intruders. Jarul orders everyone in the country to be informed about the intruders and to notify him once they are found. Brook points out that there may be more of them, so Jarul tells them to warn everyone that there are at least two intruders.
Nami becomes furious that these people would abduct children in broad daylight, while Usopp fears what the attackers will demand from the country once the children become their hostages. Jinbe offers to help stop them, but Jarul refuses, saying the Straw Hats are their guests and should hide somewhere safe instead. After the giants leave, Jinbe says that if the intruders are human-sized like them, they would have a much easier time dealing with them. Usopp adds that the giants can handle the large monsters. The only problem is that the country is too big for them to cover on foot. However, Nami notices Colon dragging a bag of weapons. The four approach him, and once Colon realizes they do not plan on stopping him, he agrees to let them ride on his ship, provided they make him the captain.
Dorry and Brogy save the day
Back with the Knights of God, the three hear the announcement that humans besides the Straw Hats have been spotted, but they mostly ignore it. Sommers sees Gunko listening to music and calls it her post-meal ritual. Gunko denies this and says it’s just something she enjoys. Sommers says he prefers live music where he can shoot whoever messes up a note first, but admits it’s nice to have a hobby you can carry with you. He then asks what song she is listening to and surprisingly, she says “New World.” Sommers laughs and asks if Gunko is unhappy with the current world. Killingham chastises him for making fun of other people’s interests, which Sommers apologizes for, but he then comments on the adults trying to save the children.
Saul equips himself with two shields to protect himself from the thorns. He manages to stop one of the children, but another child bumps into them, causing the thorns to hurt both of them. Saul is horrified while Robin is disgusted. Robin tells Saul they should find the source of these powers, but Saul warns that if they don’t do something, the children will walk straight into the fire. Saul grabs some rope and lassos one of the children from behind. One of the MMAs, a Fenrir, prepares to attack, making Saul realize that the monsters are trying to stop anyone from interfering.
In the western village, the Draugr is finally defeated, but several warriors are injured in the process. Two other MMAs, a Nidhöggr and a Ghost, prove to be too much for the warriors and force everyone to flee. Suddenly, Dorry and Brogy appear and use a simultaneous Hakoku to destroy both of them and another MMA. The two apologize for being late because they were throwing up all the alcohol they drank to sober up. Now they are angry that they wasted such good drink and are ready for payback. Gaban is also there with the Giant Warrior Pirates, giving the villagers hope that they can win.
