After Mio messed up in the preliminary round, it makes you wonder how the others fared.

From last time, we found out that Mio lost the first round. Sure, Yuu cheered her up, but from the loser bracket, she won that round with one bar of health to spare. Of course, Tamaki broke the news of what actually happened after she lost her first round. Aya seems disappointed, but not surprised, as she knows about Mio’s strange difficulties, which she noticed when she faced her for the first time.

Mio just made it past the second round, but just barely, by a thread, with a perfect throw. This really surprised the opponent Mio faced off against, although it’s funny how she played while having dead fish eyes, until she won her round. When he tracked her down, Mio seemed pretty emotionless when she was focusing, which allowed her all the sudden to feel like she could land a throw now.
While we never know how Yuu did, Tamaki met with Aya, as she told her she had won her first rounds. Tamaki revealed that she barely made it without losing despite being intimidated by the player she faced off against. At least Aya’s training paid off in the end, as Tamaki says it was a miracle that it happened. She thanked Aya after she reminded her that Tamaki’s efforts made it happen.

Of course, they are watching a match against gekido and Cafeore. Apparently, Cafeore got into a rivalry after he told gekido to stop playing in the arcade cabinet he plays at. Surprisingly, gekido beat Cafeore, and that rivalry began. It’s interesting how they spent a good chunk of time not hitting each other. That is until Cafeore made his move, but of course he fell into gekido’s trap using a super art. This eventually allowed gekido to use a Critical Art and, well, it’s over for him. Mio was walking by and she figured who she was facing off against.

As expected, the girls eventually had lunch and celebrated their wins and explained how their match went. Funny how Mio only focused on eating as Yuu is carefree. They are surprised how Yuu went through the first few rounds smoothly while remaining carefree. Funny how Yuu revealed Mio lost, which caught Arisa’s attention as it reminded her of not-so-pleasant moments. She used to have a friend, Miyu, who protected her from the bullies.

However, her friendship broke when Arisa beat Miyu in a match. Miyu started crying, saying that she hated Arisa and did not want to see her again. This can explain why Arisa seemed so hostile when Yuu invited her over to her table. Interestingly, she threw her plate of yakisoba noodles at Mio after she said that if she mouths off at people, she will lose friends. She didn’t take that well, but thankfully Mio did a Mawashi-uke in real life and the plate of Yakisoba landed on Yuu’s head.

While Mio and Arisa were about to duke it out, Hana came by wondering who was making a scene. Hana seems surprised by Yuu, Mio, Aya, and especially Tamaki taking part in the tournament. Yuu, Aya, and Mio learn Hana is Tamaki’s little sister. She seems surprised that Tamaki still plays fighting games. I guess we know why Tamaki wants to take part in the tournament to ultimately catch her older sister’s eye. Of course, Tamaki couldn’t reveal that reason when Hana gave a scary look as she asked why she was playing fighting games. That said, I guess Arisa and Hana live up to their names of being Lesser Devil and Bloody Macaron. There is no doubt Aya and her friends might face them in the tournament.

With the next rounds of matches about to begin, at least Tamaki cleaned Yuu’s head of the Yakisoba noodles. We know Aya is facing off gekido and Mio against Cafeore. Is it enough for them to win their next match? We’ll find out next time.
